New computer specs: what do you think?
After countless CTD´s and 3 years of use I decided to retire my old rig and buy a new one. Not being a expert/geek myself I would like to know what you guys think of it:
- Intel Core i7-2600 - 2x4GB Kingston DDR3 1333MHz - Intel DH67BL motherboard - Geforce GTX560Ti - Win7 64bit - HDD SATA 1.0TB Samsung. It sounds good enough and where I live those things are expensive, nevertheless it´ll be good to know if I´m doing something stupid. |

I would recommend 6gb ram, its a really significant improvement over 4gbs
also, try to get a sata 6gb drive, its much better than sata 3gb |

Doesn't look too bad. I'm running a 650W PSU and feel like I'm close to the limit. I'd try to go 750W or up. Beyond that, looks good.

Check my signature for the specs on what I built. It may be more than you need but at least gives you some ideas. I have a 1000W power supply. I plan to upgrade to a GeForce 580 series graphics card in the near future. SATA drives are a definite must have as they are essentially the default drive type for most systems these days. You can easily overclock your CPU as I have if you get a decent heatsink and fan. If I were you I would get two hard drives instead of one huge one. I have three on my system (one for WinXP, one for Win7, and one for data storage). I would suggest two 500 GB's. Defrag would take forever on a TB drive. I buy most of my stuff from NewEgg. TigerDirect is also good.
