i have silent hunter 3 commander but im not running it im running a cracked version of sh3 because i lent the disc to my m8 and he lost it so i cant update the game itself and when i run sh3 it is as tho that mod isnt even there

Hmmm honestly it should work with all versions as a stand alone.
at this point all I can sugget is re downloading or unpacking a
fresh copy and try again.

being at limit of range would explain the idiot's actions and 'maintain current orders' would be the least damaging option.

but on at least one occasion, I had him singing out repeatedly about a warship and it sank me because I never got enough time to fire back. I'd kept tellin' them to engage but all I got was more damage - he was within 4,000 metres, I think, but then I didn't have a chance to find out!

I tried it out on top of the GWX-Mod with patch 1.3 but whenever I use your boat I get the message anti-aircraft number 3 is destroyed.

In the damage screen it's marked as destroyed too, and I'm unable to man the AA guns with more than four seamen though there are slots for six (3 AA guns I think).

Do you have any idea about this?
Is it possible to circumvent the destruction of the third AA when starting in port?

Well its a known issue and will remain so as long as we are in beta
there is hope Im told that we can fix the issue with final uber though
so dont lose hope. also this is I think mentioned in the readme.
any uber version that doesnt sport two deck guns wont have the message
but any version that does will have the message.

By the way, I sank the Tirpitz when leaving harbour with the deckguns and fire to the waterline. :rotfl:

Ok, after that my career in the navy was at an end :nope: but hey at least I sunk a battleship... :huh:

Not sure big ship navy is dead yet...after all...the aircraft carriers are bigger than any BB ever was...the US BB's were pulled out of mothballs to use in Vietnam and Gulf wars, the DD-1000 being done is the biggest DD ever if I read the literature right...

All good though...cause the bigger they come the harder they fall...

Not too much at this point DG Ive been away for a while too.
(RL) Nothing on the leading edge side to report at this point
and 2.0 beta has been procrastinated to death by several issues
soon though brudda soon.

alright I will openly admit that I have spent about all of the last
three months reading and researching some Uhm wierd intellectual
pursuits.

Legitimate uber status is as follows

last three months zero progress.

certain up and coming events seem to hold the promise of
some serious influx of talent regarding the real potential of ubers
"What was possible question"

so thats the direction uber is taking more or less from here
although there is hope for some spectacular stuff uber is
going to be shaped on the maximum potentials of the leading
edge technologies of the time.

hull form power plants weapons and sensors
etc but done more correctly based on what if
you had a trillion reichsmarks to spend and
only the technology of the times what could
you come up with.

thats the idea
over previous months some very
spectacular possibilities came out
so the whole thing isnt as limiting
as it sounds.

Now I just need to here from a few freinds and were off.

This is from the first line of that section. Little dry, but still a great technical read .

I believed this, that is until I had a chance to take a rip at Mush's Uberboot Mod. Most of this is from my experiences with his earlier build of the Uberboot. I have not had time to give the newer version a fair go ( GWX 1.02 interupted this ), but wanted to post anyway. I will post on the other one later when I have played it more.

As he has said here, there may be some who choose not to play this mod because it veers away from being historically correct, but you can choose to either d\l it or not. Personally I love the sub for what it is and the ability to go deep, but I can honestly say I like that this option is here big-time, I am a big fan of choice, this one delivers it in spades. Also I am a fan of fun, this is it:arrgh!:

Ok so I was skeptical at first, even more so after the first few times I played it. Got my ass kicked on more than a few occassions. As subskippers we are programmed for surface combat only under the right conditions. With GWX 1.02 those conditions have become few and far between. For that mod it is a good thing.

The Uberboot Mod takes surface combat in a whole new direction. And for those skippers looking for a change in gameplay, then this mod may be the very thing for you.

If you have not seen the video on the thread, check it out because it is well worth is. As Mush has illustrated you have quite an arsenal at your disposal to take on surface and air contacts and believe you me you will need them:o:o

As mentioned the first inclination for me was to dive, dive like a mother@#$%$&, but that would have defeated the whole purpose of the thing. So I had to shake the urge to go deep.

The best way to go about surface combat is from the bridge, this I found out the hard way, there is alot going on from both the air and then surface, and both at once. Directing the Uberboot from the bridge is a must. Plus it is sweet to watch all the action unfold all around you. Just check out the screens posted at the beginning of the thread:o

The next thing is to use the speed of the Uberboot to your advantage, 24kts can be a great friend. Use your new friend wisely though, not being quite as skilled as MM, I got myself pummelled on more than a few occassions by making abrupt turns and thus slowing my hull for all to see.

And oh yes the guns, the sweet, sweet guns. To be honest I got tired of the surface-guns in the Stock SH3 and even in the super-mods. Uberboot has changed this and made it fun again. Taking out whole waves of planes and dishing out some serious dameage on surface contacts does that to you, did it to me. Plus torps are still an option, to be successful you still need to use them here.

I have some screens but they pale in comparison to what is posted here. Ok I will post one.

Coming right for my stern, it was intense as you can see there is another one right behind it in the distance.

Anyway those are just a few thoughts, I was pleased to be asked to give this mod a go, I thank Mush for that:up::up: , and for not giving up on me on doing this. When this is released you will not be dissappointed, it will be a refreshing spin on a game that continues to impress after close to two years in release.
