Yes, another indie SubSim
Hello everyone! Some of you may have seen me before, but honestly I have stayed relatively silent through the years. The truth is, I deeply enjoy subsims, and I have always loved the discussions on this great community. So being a programming major at my local college, I wanted to contribute to this genre by making a new game for a long time. I have been planning for a long time and am currently developing a new sub sim/arcade game set in the Pacific Ocean on a Balao class submarine during WW2. The project’s current name is “Under The Pacific”. It will be a mixture of 3D and 2D graphics, and it will be mostly casual, made for Windows OS. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have about this upcoming game. Im going to try very hard to make it the best quality possible, as this combines my passion for both programming and submarine games. It will not be too heavy on the simulation aspect and will be leaning more towards the arcade genre. I will have a screenshot ready very soon.

GREAT! Cannot wait!
Is this like a campaign kind of game? If it does, will it have a campaign like SH4? Is it single-player, or will it be like the game Wolfpack? This will be the second WWII American Submarine simulator that I will have. Since it is a new one, this will be exciting! Wish you luck on your journey!

New development update: working on CO’s Quarters! (Sorry about lighting, I did not get it just right yet). Why is this necessary for the game? Well In order to explain, I would have to explain the mechanics, which I will do in a separate post later!

So as I promised, here is an explanation of the game mechanics! Also a mock-up of the UI design I plan to implement. The game mechanics will be similar to 688(I) Hunter/Killer. To go between each compartment, you have to click on the compartment you want to go to. In each compartment there are buttons you press that have functions relevant to the compartment you are in (periscope and launch torpedos in Conning Tower, torpedo management in Torpedo Room, etc.). The 3D image is static (for now at least) and there will be arcade style mechanics too. Keep in mind that this is not an official screenshot and the design is subject to change. Questions, anyone?
