I had a close call last night, I was on my way to home thought English Channel, I had just past Dover and I was thinking "I made it without any incidents..." Weather was very poor so it wasn't hard, but then I heard the shout Ship sighted, and to make matters worse, I also hear gun fire.

This is bad...

Diving just in time.

Payback time.

I managed to escape, with 87 % hull integrity. Too bad the destroyer didn't sunk, but one Royal Navy ship is going to be on drydock for a while.

U-27 lying on the bottom after it was hit by a mine in grid AN01. The bow torpedo room was flooded and the boat was stuck on the bottom.

Finally, they got free. But the boat was surfacing uncontrolled, stern ahead.

U-27 had lost her port diesel and the radio antenna was badly damaged. Also, it would take hours to pump up all the water from the torpedo room. Notice that the bow is lower in the water, because of the water pushing it down in the torp room.

Trust me, you dont want to go over the same I did. I was close to English coast, so even one DD could have meant that it´s over for U-27. Now, U-27 is safely in Wilhemshaven, after the repairs we sail back to Kiel via Kiel Canal. WaW patrol.

Yup, works now. I´ve tried to get a decent fog effect for ages, but never got it to look good. Great work!
