Great videos Juan!

Some of those shots look so real I wanted to cry.

Things I noticed:

In the bow shot Valiant obviously has anti-torpedo bulges. She probably should have taken a few more to sink.

Torpedo hits are way overdone. Should be less explosion graphics.

Propellors always rotate outward, due to control issues with inward-turning screws.

Torpedo propellors didn't seem to be turning.

Sailors on surface ships' decks had proper-looking uniforms.

Spaceballs is the first thing I think about whenever I order flank speed and the log says "Extreme Speed ahead". Along with a mental image of mini-Darth Vader hanging on for his dear life to the railing as the starship zooms through hyperspace.

Was playing with pause button while sinking ship and noticed something weird, reason why we see unrealistic firework show seems to be because first series of explosions throw a lot depth charges and grenades in air, where they explode second later.

Thanks, Steve! And Kylania, I thought you were dead!

Steve, I agree about the boom-boom effects being overdone, but occasionally they look fantastic. I think fine tuning will make them awesome.

Torpedo hits seem very random, I attacked the Valiant some days earlier and it didnt even flinch after three hits. Dunno, maybe I hit the ammo hold. Btw, one of those tankers took 4 torpedos (all seperate impact locations) before it blew. Ships dont seem to flood.

I am not sure if the torp screws are turning, but I do know animations sometimes go screwy while recording. Sometimes the flags were waving lag free while splashes seemed to be going at 2fps. Last scene in part 1 shows it clearly, the sub moves around at steady (locked) 30fps while the bow spray looks like a slide show.

Btw, my name is Frederik. You are not the first one to call me Juan though, I think it must be my old vimeo account. (After Juan Pablo Montoya)

I do hope (and believe) that SH5 survives for a good while yet. Despite the bugs and the laughably arcade-ish nature, it has at least as much potential as SHIII.

If you turn off the health bar and lazer for your deck gun the arcade stuff is gone. The UI is not bad really.

Nice shot Dowly....always making a mess!
