Default U.S.S.Cyclops

This book is on my 'must have' list!
Written by Marvin W. Barrish and available through Amazon (So Neal can get a cut).

At $156.00 it's the most money I'll have dropped for a single book but the info is stunning!

There's also a thing on National Geographic channel comeing soon.

Looks interesting but the cost means I might wait for some used copies to start showing on Amazon.

The blueprints of the Cyclops alone make it worth buying for me.
Not to mention photos of the later years before it was lost.
There were several modifications done that photos on the net don't show.
I'm hopeing to have the cash monday to put my order in.

That may depend on the truck I'm going to look at tomorrow.

Edit.....
OK. So I bought the truck.

I'm still getting the book after seeing the check I got.

Should be a good read Jeff, I know you've always had an interest in the Cyclops since before we put her in GWX.

Tell Nancy we met up and ran up that bar bill together.

You still got the vid of the night we had in that Houston bar?

Best not post it or Grant might get a little upset

I'll post a picture instead....wonder what he was saying to me at the time it was taken

Got the book today. Well it was at home yesterday but I was in Wisconson then.

I got home today and both the book and my new NoteBook were here.
I opened the book first!

This thing is a MONSTER!! Just pageing through it was an eye opening event!
The pictures and plans alone sent shivers down my spine.
The few pages I did read tell me I got exactly what I paid for.

Not the BS Triangle stuff that the Cyclops is forever linked to.
But a story of a real ship as best as can be told today from records.

Cool! I always love getting new books.

Makes perfect sense to me. I'm a funny one. I'll always take a good history or tech & spec book over a novel. I consider Campbell's Jutland, an Analysis of the Fighting to be light reading for a quiet evening. This one sounds like money well spent.

Yep! Still have that video.

That was a Bar hopping, sub clean up dodgeing day I'll never top!

One photo in the Book that is really cool?
Cyclops coaling the Texas!

Haveing visited the Texas twice now, that picture was a surprise treat!

The down side of the Book.
I HAVE to re-do the AC-4 in GWX.
A proper Cyclops is needed.

It's on the other system. Uploading it now to YouTube.
Remember, You asked for it so Grant and Todd can complain to you!

I have Q-Ships versus the U-Boats (Beyer). Is in this book U.S.S. Cyclops something new compared to the mentioned book?
