Default Torpedo tubes.

In modern USN SSNs the torp room is not forward, but closer to amidship. The torpedoes must penetrate the pressure hull at less than the 10° angle at which they exit the ship. A greater than 0° pressure hull penetration would require an unwanted weakness in the form of an elipse in the pressure hull. Yet at some point the 10° angle is attained. In a 256” tube the obvious answer is that a larger tube inboard is represented to accommodate the torpedo, before and as it exists the boat.

Did any of that make sense?

Any thoughts? Or am I just giving up un needed info?

Consider it forgotten. Whatever it was.

That doesn't really make sense to me. Perhaps a better context would make it more understandable.

Other than the shutters rotating as apposed to sliding you won't get anything else from me on this subject.

Positive control.
