I have gone from never buying it with DRM to i will wait and see how things pan out . No major bugs . No problems with people connecting to ubi servers and staying connected . The game is moddable with the drm . Ubi needs to convince me though that they would patch it in the future if they would discontinue server support . This is my main sticking point .

I dont like the need for constant internet connection at all but I will be more upset if it turns out to be an arcadey point and shoot than a hardcore sim

If you watch Neals review video you can see he still continues playing while he is disconnected .

My computer couldn't handle SH5 anyway, so I have an excellent excuse to wait for the bugs (which are present in every game nowadays) and this DRM business to be sorted out.

Somewhat confusing poll options there.
Anyway, I'd say I'm slightly less inclined to buy than I was, because of all the DRM issues raised by people here, but I'm still inclined to buy. For me, bugs are still the deciding issue, just as they were five months ago.

For me, DRM has never been the biggest killer, although feedback from Settlers 7 beta testing hasn't made the pill any easier to swallow.
Looking at Neal's video I can see the game may have potential; it looks good, albeit in a somewhat sterile way, but I'm function over form, and function still remains to be seen...apart from the word "bugs", which seems to be thrown around in the various previews a bit too much for my liking and frankly, at the risk of drawing predictable criticism, the devs don't have a very good track record in that department, at least with v1.0 (yeah, yeah, I know, but it's all really the fault of the Ubisoft suits). I wasn't going to rush out and buy it anyway, I'm still not going to rush out and buy it, so I guess it's "same" for me. Last edited by JScones; 02-12-10 at 07:14 AM. |

I voted "Same". I'm basically on the fence with the game and awaiting some reviews and comments from people who have actually played the game.
DRM is not necessarily a deal breaker. I don't know enough about it to really form an honest opinion of it. First impulse was that I didn't like the idea and I'm not sure I will, but I can probably live with it as long as the doom and gloom sayers are not totally correct. My biggest concerns, in no particular order:
One more thing: Anybody want to lay odds on wether the game will actually be released on time or not?

I'd also bet that the reviewers will say it should not have been released on time.
