Hello
Hi all,
Having watched this forum for quite a while I have finally registered so here I am! Hello! I have been an avid fan of sub sims since I was very fortunate enough to be able to drive a Trafalger Class Sub of the Royal Navy back in 2004, HMS Trenchant. I was a Potential Officer and they kindly let me surface the sub (the simplist of all evolutions on the boat) and climb the conning tower whilst off shore at Poole. I have been hooked ever since. Enthusiasm didn't make up for lack of talent and even having breakfast with an Admiral didn't persuade them to take me on! (the impetuousness of youth I guess!). I guess that is a good thing as it is quite a lot of pressure being responsible for that much fire power! Just got my head around the mods for Sub Command and managed to get the SCXii update and the SCU working, just looking forward to playing all the missions. Also cant wait to try SH3 with all those mods too! So here I am, greetings! |

Welcome to SubSim GasCooker.
Very nice intro. Wow, a guy who's actually been on a sub. Good to have you aboard.

Welkom Herr GasCooker! In the Ubootwaffe, when surfacing, remember the BIG rule: "Oberteil nicht Zuschlagen": (don't slam the topside) as did a US nuke under a Japanese Ship a while back...most useful when rising Silent Otto-like to wreak havoc within the convoy! At least you've got practical experience!
