Default Captain, reporting for duty!

At ease.

I started playing SHIII about two years ago. I was always interested in WWII history, and had played the code out of IL-2 Sturmovik. I wanted to try another aspect of the war, and SHIII was deemed the best choice. I started playing it again about two weeks ago. I've only completed two patrols, with no kills to my name, but I've been reading topics here on how to stalk and properly destroy targets (primarily because I don't have experience with manual mode). I've downloaded some gramophone mods for added mood, and want to try the Grey Wolves mod at some point.

Gut jagen.

Welcome aboard Kaleun. The killing solution is simple: get close, aim the boat, lead slightly and LOS!!. As Von C. says "In war everything is simple but sometimes the simple is difficult"!?? So ve haf Math!?? I generally penetrate the convoy to 500 yards and mind the 300 yard eel arming distance as per Silent Otto K.-"one ship one eel" ie 'economy of force' for U-boots. Some skeet 'shutzen' is useful, as with pheasants. Good hunting Herr Kaleun!
