As if by magic everything started fitting into place....'too late for those who were already dead' Jimbuna thought......but fitting into place nevertheless.

Oberon (like so many others before him had been killed ashore). There was only one other ashore with him...A Very Super Market....and by his own admission he was bruised and looking emaciated. (his previous post)

Hadn't Oberon suggested Jimbuna look for cuts and bruises amongst the men? And hadn't someone pointed out earlier that werewolves looked emaciated after a night carrying out their evil deeds?

Why wasn't A Very Super Market casting his vote? Was he afraid he might draw attention to himself?

Why was it A Very Super Market was not only casting his vote for a change but indeed, casting it extremely early today?

This didn't account for the death of poor FIREWALL though.....'There must be another bastid, two of them, and one of them was on the boat' Jimbuna thought.

'Perhaps Aramike, but possibly Nigeis or Pinguin' He couldn't be sure at this time.

He thought to himself' 'I must be sure I can trust those I am considering as friend and not foe.....but how best to communicate?'

Plans and strategies began forming in his head, he looked up and saw Penelope looking at the portrait of Nokia hanging up on the wall....'It wouldn't suprise me if somebody named a phone after him one day in honour of his memory' he thought with a wry grin.

The plans in his mind were starting to form at a rapid pace....."Penelope, can I have a quiet word with you?"

A Very Supermarket is not a werewolf. I have faith in him too, and really Kpt. It would seem the last remaining furballs are from your very own U-13.

Was it not Benjamin Franklin who said, "we must hang together or we most assuredly will hang seperately?"

Yet it was you who said to keep your enemies even closer... tell me Herr Kapitan, before we proceed, are we allies against a common foe, or are we enemies...? if we are allies and I pray this is so, then we can afford no more mistakes.

Indeed, as it stands now, I think our best bet is to move in reverse, let us figure out who is human. I give us, one chance in three.

Oberon is dead, he was a human and we are now sadly, 100% sure of that, those flowers on the bar there. Are what he gave to me, they are Aconitum flowers I have kept them watered, fed and fresh for if ever the day came they should be needed. Herr Jimbuna... I want to trust you, I really do, but since the beasts are from your U-Boat... there is only one way I can certain.

Wachoffizier Pinguin wearily strides into Mercy's Inn, looking gaunt and tired. He looks around for Jimbuna, and upon seeing the captain heads slowly to where he sits.

"Ahem," he starts, "Sorry to interrupt, but we, ah, we finished cleaning up the mess. I don't think the cook will be going near the galley anytime soon, though," he adds in a futile attempt at levity.

As he heads to the bar, listening to the conversations around him, suddenly a thought strikes him. He turns and looks back at the table.

"Did we ever find Lesrae's body?"

Another quick glance at the inn. They're all there. The postman knows he is safe, but what of the others. There could be two wolves in there right now. Not here. Not in the tower. Only one man in the tower.

And only one man in the trees. That's what's been drawing the seagulls. lesrae's rotting corpse is in the trees, perhaps as a backup snack for the wolves, whenever they can't get anybody. Weird. Damn gulls

There, it's solved. No one mention lesrae again!

Jimbuna pulls a small spree of Wolfsbane from the inside of his jacket....takes a long sniff of its fragrance and places it into the flower pot...leans over so his chin is only an inch above it and smiles at Penelope....."It's also known as monkshood, wolfsbane, leopard's bane, women's bane, Devil's helmet or blue rocket. Now you know the old Kaleun also believes in some of these old superstitions. I still much prefer the so far tried and tested military weapon response though".

He scratches at an object behind his uniform shirt and mindful that others are taking an interest in their little gathering says "Sometimes it's better to be on 'Guard' and winks at them both.

He quickly looks at Jimbuna, and motions for the flora he is holding. "Here, I will prove to you I am not one of these teufels."

"No! Better!" he says suddenly as a new thought crosses his mind, and he pulls a silver knife from his inside his coat. "I pulled this from the galley this morning, and have been carrying it since for protection. I will prove once and for all I human." He raises his left hand for all to see, and with the silver implement cuts a deep gash into the palm of his hand.

"Still do not believe me?"
