Default Effect of radio intercept + emergency calls from enemy freighters within the sim

Another question I'm asking about:

When I send status or convoy messeges to bdu, are there any enemy "hunter killer groups" which intercept the radio signal to catch me? I know allies has had such a technology. Is this simulated?

The other question: Does a merchant make an emergency call when I sink a enemy with my 10,2cm? If yes, are there any destroyers searching for me?

Thanks for the answers.

Default I'm not qualified to say, but...

...I believe that the code for this sort of scenario was written, as well as enemy aircraft being sent to the location of an intercepted transmission. Sadly, I think in the rush to get SH4 out, this code was not properly implemeted into the game. The Devs didn't fix it any of the patches; maybe they remain unaware of the problem.

Thanks.

I was wondering because I sunk a merchant 20km out of new york and no airplane and no destroyer came to me.

What was the year? At the start of the war the Americans were woefully unprepared. As late as April 1942 there were at total of 23 USN destroyers operating on the eastern seaboard, plus a variety of Coast Guard cutters and armed yachts. But they had to cover the entire Atlantic coast. It is estimated that there were no more than four destroyers available on any given day. There were no hunter-killer groups in the US navy at that time.

There were also about 100 planes of all types, but many of them were not equipped to do anything but spot and patrol, and a torpedoed ship might not give the most accurate coordinates while they were sinking.

This is why the Germans sometimes referred to it as "The New Happy Time."

Was the first Operation Paukenschlag (Drumbeat) Mission with OM Mod. So I think jan. '42.

Yes, was a good time for the german boats. But I'm trying to make a "real" convoy attack like my books says. The uboats were nearly in a distance of 800meters next to a destryoer and they didn't attack. When I try to do like this, these damn lurkers fire in a distance of about 3000meters. Of course in a dark night. Just trying rfb, but don't think, that's better with it.:hmm:
