Did they surrender all of their screenshots? I'd love to see them regardless! In addition, this is kind of funny. Go to Google and type in "french victories" and select "I'm feeling lucky" instead of google search and see what you get. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Hi CV707, sorry but the "sailor Steve" picture (fisherman) was posted by my good self and snapped off of my screen. It was taken I believe in Kiel, or Wilmshaven, one or the other, going out on patrol.
Hi Jherdt, I hope he didn't get caught skiving . I don't know if you've seen Sailor Steve's Avatar but it is himself fishing I believe.
Cheers

[edit]

Angle = 25. I've been using that for everything nowadays

CCIP,

I have a question. Do you find that using a narrow zoom lense (i.e. 25) drops your FPS? As opposed to using a longer zoom lense (i.e. 50, 60 or up)?

Personally, I use 40 for freecam and 55 for deck and gun stations, but I get the impression that I lose some FPS for doing that...

CCIP, you must enter the competition on u-boat.realsimulation.com with these screenies, they're awesome.
The one with the crew being blasted into the air poses a question....There was a debate on here about ethics, how come it's ok to portray men being flung into the air but not to have men abandon ship in a lifeboat? I'd feel easier aboat sinking a ship if you could see the crew survive rather than all going down with the ship. There should be a lifeboat mod. And crew walking on board the decks like the fellas that wander around the docksides.

Really?

I always thought opposite; I actually sometimes observed an improvement in FPS because of the lower FOV. Do you use 20km visibility? Maybe it's because it raises the LOD at longer distances. For me, I've never really seen any drops in the game at all.

The ethics question will always be there, and I'm certainly among those who've always wanted lifeboats (aren't most of us?). I think the reason we don't have lifeboats is that you could shoot at them - but I'd be OK with lifeboats that, like the dock crews and nurses, are invincible :hmm:
