Default Damage models and tonnage sunk

In my varying exchanges i've seen people reporting that they are sinking in excess of over 35,000 grt of enemy shipping.

I dunno how they did this because even when I play the practice missions i'm still finding it tricky to sink even a tramp steamer with one torp!!

I'm using GWX 3.0 along with the advanced damage model (which adds special FX). Im wandering if my usage of this enhancement also adds difficulty to the game at all or whether those who are sinking lots are just using the stock silent hunter 3?

These be the 'sweet spots'.

Do those sweet-spots work in GWX3.0 though? Because I've read that the ones shown in the recog manual (which are the ones in that pdf) don't work nearly as well in GWX.

Those with the original damage models are still there.

If you get close enough they will show up in the recognition manual as well.

Humm, some guys here (like me) play sh3 for nearly five years! It represents an experience of hundreds of hours of playing so sinking big amounts of enemy shipping is somewhat normal ( and 35.000 grt is not a big amount with 22 torpedoes except late war)... And most of them roleplay it the hard way ( i mean GWX or other super mod, did, 100% etc...)

I really don't think it matters all that much how each individual play....the most important thing is that they get enjoyment from playing.

Hey gaz -- I feel your pain. In fact, I started a similar thread a while back:

But FWIW, it gets better -- in my last mission, I bagged over 40K.
