A while back, I made a post where I mentioned how, when I first started to play guitar, I didn't know the proper standard tuning, so I made a wide guess and wound up tuning to an open minor tuning. Years later, a fellow guitarist told me Albert King used to use a minor open key tuning, as did Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughn; Albert, being left-handed, also played the guitar upside down, turning a right-handed guitar over so the strings were in a reverse order to 'normal' (Hendrix could also play a reversed right-handed guitar easily, although he most often played a right-handed guitar re-strung as a lefty guitar). King was a major influence to Hendrix, SRV, Clapton, Gary Moore, and many, many other guitarists. King's stinging style and phrasing can still be heard, echoed, in the work of guitarists in all styles of blues and rock. Here is King, with his signature number, Born Under A Bad Sign:

Here, King, The Master, trades solos with The Student, Stevie Ray Vaughn:

Speaking of Masters, here is a long clip of Chuck Berry in what appears to be rehearsal sessions for a TV gig; this is an interesting look into Chuck Berry's process in a more loose, unstructured, mood than his usual performances:
