SH (orig) on DosBox

Howdy,

I am running the original SH on my XP box using the following procedure:

http://www.subsowespac.org/silent-hunter-dosbox.shtml

BUT, no matter the settings I can not get it to accelerate above x256

This is 'okay' for individual scenarios, but for a camp...it is unbearable.

I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions beyond making adjustments to the F-Force settings?

Thanks,
GG

This is a known problem with that approach.

On the same site, you will find another approach documented that use VDMS sound XP VM DOS emulation. Follow those directions and you will be able to speed the game up to 2048X I believe. I use DOSBOX for AOD, but for SHCE VDMS is much better (smoother animation).

Howdy! 256x is typical with DOSBox. Like Mark I use the VDMS procedure described on the same site and 2048x is no problem.
