I actually re-installed SH5 and reloaded all the mods. Keeping my fingers crossed. So far no CTDs.

DavyJonesFootlocker greetings.

I am using a way not to reinstall the game when it is corrupted or altered by some mod.

First of all you must have enough space on your hard drive.

Then you have a copy of the DATA folder, which as you know is inside SH5 directory in a different direction from where you are, if you compress it much better that way does not occupy much space on your disk.

Then you did this backup, install the mod you are going to install, if the game is corrupted install, unzip the DATA file and replace it with the original which is on the board of SH5.

To me it has worked with most of the mod, when I had the problems ...

I hope you will be helpful

Of course, privateer, a mod that fixes a bug is something good ! But, speaking of JSGME, I persist to believe that in the present case, to replace the original "W-clear" file, is a much better & simple solution.

Personnaly, I avoid ANY interferences between JSGME mods, which is the ONLY way to be sure everthing should work as modder intended to. When you have interference(s), if you don't have yourself the capacity to analyse in deep the potential consequences of stacking them, you are playing the sorcerer's apprentice of Walt Disney !!!

Yes, of course privateer, but this does not mean that every bit of knowledge, as you say, should become a JSGME mod. What was important in this example, was the fact: 1) I decided to do this work and: 2) I decided to not keep it egoistically just for me.

I think you should give W_clear some time to analyse your findings and TGA file, his previous posts seem to communicate that he personally does not see this a problem.

I for one am grateful for your efforts, and on face value it would seem to make most sense for W_clear to evaluate its inclusion in v4.1 or utilise the information you've posted to make similar changes himself.

Give it some time

I compared the data of this mod with stock data and have some questions:

1. The mod contains the cloud_models.GR2 in /data/env which is identical to the stock version (no bytes changed). What is the meaning of the file in this mod?

2. In the mod folder /data/env and in /data/misc is the CloudsPack.dds
But the game use only the one from /data/misc, why installs the mod a copy of that file in /data/env?

If this message is adressed to me, where did-you see that I am impatient ?

I am just very interested to read feedback's from those who suffer of this problem.

Of course, "W_clear" can take all the time he need and he can do whatever he want from my file.

Don't worry, It is not a quarrel.

I just didn't understood why BigBANGtheory was saying that.

We are venturing off topic again, and the reasons aren't important. Lets instead ask how W_clear is getting on with information ACsoft kindly posted earlier and have done with the matter.
