The movie Eddie and the cruisers was a box office hit. It was propelled no doubt by the great music in the movie provided by real life John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band. When people think of the " New Jersey " sound, inevitably, people think of Bruce Springsteen and rightfully so.

However, John Cafferty was defining the " New Jersey " sound before Bruce Springsteen. Michael “Tunes” Antunes was the Sax player in the movie and plays in real life as the Sax player for John Cafferty. John Is still touring and rocking audiences.

John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band - Tender years from the original soundtrack.

Stevie Ray Vaughan at his finest on an appearance on the show, Austin City Limits. I don't think the rhythm section of Bassist Tommy Shannon and Drummer Chris Layton was given enough credit for the success of the Stevie Ray Vaughan band. The awesome under pinnings provided by Tommy and Chris is evident in this song with heavy connotations of Boogie Woogie. Keyboardist Reece Wynans gets into the groove as well.

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Look at little sister.

* I love the seamless transition of switching guitars at 2:58 after Stevie breaks a string on his guitar. *

Buddy Guy, in 2001, released the album Sweet Tea; he opened the album with this lament about his advancing age (Buddy was 65 in 2001)...

...having established his AARP bona fides, on the second cut on the album, buddy then unleashed this warning shot across the bows of the young wannabe string slingers...
