Ahoy, kapuhy...

As is, kapuhy... am retired, so have nothing but... loads of time.

With getting this... endeavor, off the ground & rolling, is.. a labor of love... & in some small way, an attempt to give back to the sim community.

I hope you understand, where I'm coming from on that...

This will be an excellent base to even improve the WoWS model (which has some flaws) and to build the Cannon and Rudderow classes on top of the same hull, and the Evarts and Butler classes on a slightly modified hull.

EDIT : Sorry to hijack this thread, mabe I should open a new one on this subject...

Mister_M...

As the Op of the thread... I do NOT see it, as a hijacking of the thread... as the discussion of the subject, is in the heart & intent of the basis for the thread... how best to trim the fat, yet keep the beast from flat lining...

radar Re: basis for the threads intent... a message from the Op of said thread...

Ok, so as to make sure that it is clear...

The heart & nature of this thread... is how to best trim the fat that is the nature of the beast, hereby known to all.. as SH3.

With that said... it matters NOT... what the users basis of the op sys they have... be that a ssd or a hd drive...

when all is said & done... it is to see just what, can be trimmed as unneeded & not necessary for the beast to live... point blank... aka for it to run & not flat line.

As it is, I know My strengths & limitations... that said, that is I know & am fairly confident in handling being a crash test dummy, when it comes to using a modders mod, to see if it works as intended... or if there are bugs to squash in its inner workings...

as well, in that same vein, when it comes to looking at, editing or adding to .cfg & the like files... there again, am fairly confident of My ability to work within them.

As to all other areas of said genre... forget about it... being a tad long in the tooth... have neither the time, nor the inclination.... to even begin to attempt to learn about that, deigning to instead... rely on those, who already have a grasp of those... dark arts... (not really dark, but... you get the gist, I hope, there... )

As it is, this thread & the basis for it... is My attempt, to give back to the community, that I have gained & benefitted from, for some time... to Me, this... is a labor of love.

With all sincerity... & warmest regards,

M. M.

Know that your help & assistance is & always has been, greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Warmest regards,

One thing you could do is remove all the 'people' on the docks.
Yeah it would be an empty dock you go back to but that's a lot of animation stuff that could be removed.
You can also whack the damned Birds! Remove the Bird flock controller from the Scene.dat and they are GONE!

No sweat... as is, I share some of that mea culpa humble pie, as well... for not being clearer, when I did the 1st post that started the thread...

It be one thing if you could shoot 'em and eat 'em, but ~no~... can't do that in the game either! Plus, they fly at night, and scare the $#!+ out of a person when bringing the scope up... "What was that? A PBY???"...

radar Re: birds...

Been nice if they could have had them, be around the docks... mostly. 1 or 2, to flit about when you hit the open seas... at different times... but, not flitting about at night... at all.

As for the docks... any chance of people population, being thinned down, perhaps... relegated to along the path your sub would take... so that it's not too... overpopulated, yet still giving the... illusion of there, being people there.

I know not everyone agrees with starting off from being docked... still would be nice if that is possible.

Otherwise, if not.. then... heck, may as well look at stripping the ability to go from office to the docks & just start from at sea already. A shame if that is the case of the latter.... option. Happen to like the... realism feel of casting off from the dock... just as they did.
