Default Sampans

Does anyone know how to reduce the frequency of the sampans, junks, and fishing boats? Seems like I am running into them constantly.Even in the open ocean.

Angel4532.!

Ok, now... on to your query...

1st off, would help to know some... much needed info.

1. Source of SH4 you're rolling with &... just as importantly, what is the version # of it... i.e, v1.4 or v1.5, to begin with.

2. Are you running that copy, straight up stock... or is it modded.???

3. If NOT stock ran & is instead modded, how did you go about adding in the mods, did you free base them (meaning, added in the mod info overwriting the original files...) or did you instead, go the better route & use JSGME to activate them..???

& lastly, but definitely NOT least...

4. Mind posting your mod activated list from JSGME...

This can be accomplished by opening up JSGME, click on "tasks" (located dead center mass on the JSGME) scrolling down the pop up menu list til you see 'export to' & select to clipboard' option there.

This will then allow you to be able to paste the mods activated list in JSGME, to a reply back here...

What's the source of your SH4 copy.. disk, Steam, Ubi... out of a magician's magic hat...???

Ok, that's a bit better... Now knowing what mods you're working with, will help...

Ok.. & I thought I had added in a lot of mods into a mix...

With your mod soup du jour there, am not even sure where to begin... could well be, of needing to activate 1 other mod... (hand crafted to ease off on the sampans... etc., that you asked about... ) editing 1 of those in the mix... could well be having to drop one... at this juncture... won't even attempt to hazard a guess here... not even a WAG...

At this point, am hoping that 1, of the others here, can be able to know & outline just what would be needed... to get you where you want to be on the excessive small fry ship encounters issue.

Best to you, on finding the info/settings your looking for on that issue.

It is a store bought disk (oops)

The sampan/junk issue was there before I discovered
JSGME. Especially along the New Guinea coast. It does ease off
slightly as time goes by.

Quite a few of your mods conflict with each other Angel4532, and / or with the game version you have also. Some were written for v1.4 use only, and do cause issue with v1.5 and are not necessary to have. Go through your list, and see if you can't find the documentation on their use. Since you have so many of Webster's mods there, it would be easier to just use his Game Fixes Only (GFO) mod, which brings in a goodly portion of what you have. An even easier solution, using the same 'base' GFO mod, is THEBERBSTER's All In One Beginners Mega Mod List For SH4. Once you have either of those mixes added in, and alter them with the optional mods, you could then add-in mods of your own choosing - but only choose ones that match the Stock game, and that do not overwrite the "fixes" that Webster did. Another aspect of the game to be aware of, is the fact that the game files start on 19380101, which is almost four years before the Pacific war started, so when you enter the game on December 9, 1941, there are four year's worth of sampans and fishing boats running about the Far East from the 41a_Jap_CoastalTraffic layer in the game, and it can be an overwhelming amount... not easy to "fix" with the stock game. But - they are worth points for each one you eliminate...

I was only looking for something that could be tweeked.
All my mods are checked to work with 1.5 as that is all I
have ever used and I don't have issues with them.

Thank you anyway.
