modded dive alarm won't play

I added a custom dive alarm (submarine_DiveAlarm_INT.wav) that only plays once during a game, won't play again until a new session is started and I can't figure out why. It doesn't matter whether I'm playing a stock game or TMO.

Also, in TMO you can get weather reports while submerged. I though you had to be on the surface?

What is the duration of the sound bit? I believe if the sound plays over a specified number of seconds, it'll play just once. This has always been a problem that I don't think has been cured yet.

Yes, see how long the original sound was and condense your version to match as close as possible. I toyed with the sounds and it is a pain in the butt.

hi i have made some alarms and posted them in the downloads section and the alarm cannot exceed 15 seconds if it does it wont repeat each time you play the sound hope this helps and far as i know there is no fix for the length of time it can play so you can make it longer

Bugs in SH3 & 4 detract from otherwise great games, like the time restriction for dive sfx in SH4 and the horrible sounds that play when saves are loaded in both versions, etc.

I hope the devs take time to iron out the bugs in SH5.

i guess we wont know what they do with sh5 unless they remove the drm option and gives us back control of the game they want us to pay money on

no im not saying that at all im sure sh5 is going to be a wonderful game and im sure that its fully moddable like the devs are saying since i dont own the game i have no proof of this at this time but i know sh4 is moddable and sh3 is because alot of very talented people here have made some wonderful mods over the years

Does this length restriction apply to all sounds? I've got no sound for the 20mm AA gun right now, after replacing various sounds, and am going insane trying to figure it out.

Yes the time limit is for all sounds that I know of at this point but I never made sound changes to the guns so I dont know about them but I do know the time limit is the same.

I cut up the sound file to less than 15 seconds and now it works every time for me. I don't know how to upload it.
