SOLVED: How to remove the torpedo silhouette in the attack map ( GWX 3.0 )
As you know when you are in TDC screen ( I'm using GWX 3.0 ) and you launch a torpedo, a silhouette of the launched torpedo appears. ( A sort of dark-grey dot displayed on the map ).
Anyone knows how to remove it? ( I can't find the right section in the menu_1024_768.ini file ) I was guessing that the texture of interest was the one named " torpsh.tga " ( C:\SH3\data\Menu\Gui\Layout ) and I've set it to full alpha but no joy, the " torpedo dot " continues to show up... Thanks in advance for your help! * SOLVED: See my last comment below Last edited by Viktor_Prien; 08-02-24 at 11:24 AM. |

Find the 'torpsh.tga' text in the menu file and comment out the details relating to the image file.
Don't comment out the [Gxx xxx] section and a few lines after that, only the image related stuff I don't play GWX so cannot be more specific. |

I've tried what you suggested but no luck so far. I'm starting to think that, or the 'torpsh.tga' is not the right texture or maybe is something hardcoded...Despite the unsuccessfull result thank you very much mate for your help and suggestions!

Got the little bugger, LOL!
The right texture is not the one mentioned above but the one named " Torp.tga " located in the path C:\SH3\data\Menu\Gui\Units. Simply edit it to render the texture fully transparent with an image editor ( Like GIMP for example ). Don't forget to save first a backup copy of the original file in the case you want to revert back to its original state. Last edited by Viktor_Prien; 08-02-24 at 11:22 AM. |
