Right, grinded up a copper saw, used it to build a couple of chests, spider-proof the palisade walls, put a door on the hut and door and gate on the entrance (gate to prevent zombies from eating the door, door to prevent skeletons from shooting over the gate) and put a barrel outside to fill up with water. Also found some random crops which I've planted. There's a couple of torches in one of the chests for you to relight the torches with.

Here's a map of the ores I've found so far:

I'll join later today

OK, unless someone will need me somewhere else, I'm going to go start mining the 2 tetra- sites to the south-west.
Might take me some time to tool up though.

Update, found 2 surface tetra- veins and a cassiterrite site (tin) so we should soon reach the bronze age, shifting operations east

Update #2: the rain puts out all the torches making the homestead isnide the palisade a mob spawner

Yup, there's no getting around that sadly. You just have to be on your toes and relight the torches once the rain has stopped. When we get the metal we can upgrade them to lanterns.

Dug up a large vein of poor ore.
Should be enough copper for a while.

Sorry for not being on top of this earlier, but I honestly can't thank you enough for taking the initiative on this one.

Things have been a bit taxing lately. Been taking on more work, probably a bit more than I can realistically handle currently. Combined with the usual insomnia I just haven't had either the time or energy to do much of anything.

Brace yourself, winter has come.

One snow so far, but mainly rain. We have livestock and I've got some cooked beef that I've put away in a ceramic container. Please don't kill the livestock, I want to try and breed them up first. I aim to find some sheep and chickens to join them at some point in the near future, and at some point build up a new field for crops which we can rotate, to keep the ground from wearing out.

Betonov mining for graphite in winter.

I found graphite and a sheep herd, both male and female.
Problem is they're 1500m north

I'll bring in the graphite in sometime around lunch and make a couldron.
You'll like the cauldron. It makes metalworking easy.

Snow, winter, wildlife ready to slaughter me.
Bringing home the graphite ore feels like

Well, I've built a barn that we can store the seeds and food in, going to work on putting a fence around it, and then I might move the animals and make myself a proper little blacksmiths area.

I believe that most, if not all, of the crops have been harvested and put away in the barrels in the barn. Should hopefully last us the winter.
Going to make some cheese as well, and try to pickle some stuff like the cabbages and onions. Told Betonov to look out for some rock salt as well.

The server was unresponsive in the management console around 16:00 UT so I made it reboot. Since then we logged on an everything seems normal.
