https://themerkle.com/is-coronavirus-airborne/

Quote:
Yesterday, Zeng Qun deputy head of the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau confirmed that Coronavirus can in fact be transmitted via Aerosols.

There still seems to be a lot of confusion as to whether or not Coronavirus is in fact an airborne pathogen.

HOW DO VIRUSES SPREAD?
To get a better idea on how viruses spread, lets take a look at Influenza. According to US National Library of Medicine, viruses are believed to be spread through two pathways: large respiratory droplets, and small particle droplet nuclei (aerosols).

Large droplets usually settle between 1-2 meters while aerosols can travel as far as 40 inches. Unfortunately, there are only experimental studies that showed that Influenza can be transmitted across rooms. However, there is little evidence of actual aerosol transmission specifically for Influenza.

We can only assume that aerosol transmission can occur, but at the end of the day we dont really know the exact numbers.

IS CORONAVIRUS AIRBORNE?
The answer depends on how you define airborne. There is no evidence that suggests that Coronavirus can be transmitted via anything other than aerosols or larger respiratory droplets. Assuming thats true, that means Coronavirus cant travel more than 40 inches.

Thats still quite the distance, but chances are you dont have to worry about Coronavirus traveling miles and miles to infect you.

Two men who originally tested negative for coronavirus in Japan now have the infection.
Quote:
Two Japanese citizens who had initially tested negative for coronavirus have now been diagnosed with the disease. Japan now has confirmed 163 cases.

The two new patients, both men, were evacuated from China to Japan. One is in his 50s and the other in his 40s, the ministry said, and both have no connection to the Diamond Princess, the cruise ship docked off the coast of Yokohama on which 135 have been infected by the virus.

The men were retested after developing fevers.

Seems this issue of airborne and aerosol has not been proven just possible new transmission until proven 100%. Until this form of transmission is proven I choose to monitor the news, I am not going to ignore it or dismiss it out of hand that would be daft.

Coronavirus emergency poses "a very grave threat" to the world, WHO boss says.

https://edition.cnn.com/asia/live-ne...hnk/index.html

A bold statement. This is the first official acknowledgement that they are very worried. Maybe they know something we don't?

Woman in Hong Kong living 10 floors below infected person also becomes infected.
Quote:
Hong Kong officials have put into quarantine dozens of residents of one apartment building after two people who live on different floors of the building were found to be infected with the coronavirus, the authorities said on Tuesday.

The two cases appeared to suggest that the virus had spread through the building, perhaps through a pipe, raising new fears about how the virus spreads.

Officials from the city Center for Health Protection said the quarantine decision was made after an unsealed pipe was found in the apartment of a newly confirmed patient, a 62-year-old woman. She lives 10 floors below a resident who was earlier found to be infected.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.nyt...china.amp.html

They suspect it may have traveled through air vents. 10 floors. Yikes.

China might be lying ... true!

But the other countries with the same virus that have reported in are not lying too.

Still only two deaths outside of China one in Hong Kong and one in the Philippines.
The one in Hong Kong was the same man that visited China and then took a cruise on a ship in Japan
and returned to Hong Kong infecting many more on that cruise ship now in quarantine.

Yes China might very well be lying, but they aren't lying about how serious this is with over fifty million
people on lock down in the Wuhan area plus work stoppages and schools closed.

President Trump said that he thinks the crisis will peak out around Spring (March 20th) I hope so

ealth officials in China are conflicted as to whether the deadly new coronavirus can spread through the air, with one expert saying 2019-nCoV could "in theory" be airborne.

Zeng Qun, the deputy head of the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, told a press briefing on Saturday that the virus can be spread via direct transmission, which involves contact with the infected person. However, the China Daily newspaper reported Zeng also suggested the new member of the large coronavirus family—which includes infections like the common cold as well as SARS—is capable of aerosol transmission.

Very informed. The video showing bat soup is not from China or showing Chinese people and people in the United States eat snakes so park the bigotry at the door.
