Glad it worked out.
Keep practicing.

That tutorial is probably one of the best out there on manual targeting.

This game is definitely not a point and shoot 'em up game. If you read any material on submarine attacks, you'll see that approaches took a lot of time. Just getting course and speed took time and then getting in the right position could take hours(or even days) before you would even start making the approach.
I think the game mirrors that fairly well and patience is the key.

@ sharkbit,Yes this is true, gone are the days of multiple attacks on 4-5 ships at once(well for the time being). I must say that it has added a whole new dimension to the game.

1 other question,Would Kaleuns in the war have used any help from the WO?

I ask this because in my mind if the need arose im sure they would and thus i would like to edit the config file to enable this to be more realistic as i did with the external view,as i only use it to watch the enemy getting sunk.

do you mean grid ref's?
i.e. BE16
or AM27 etc?

if you hit F5 you will see that your map charts are devided into areas marked by letters AM, AN, AL etc.
each of these is devided into rectangles marked 01 to 99

so if you're told to patrol AL36 simply find AL on your map (marked in bold letters) and zoom in until you find grid 36. this is your patrol zone!

Good Hunting Heir Kaleun!

Yeah, I know that but I don't understand why there are four numbers even the grid shows only two.

Just as you divided the main grid (i.e. AM) into 9 squares, and these squares into another 9 to get the two digit grid (i.e. AM45), you can also divide it further using the same principle, to get the four digit grid.

As that thread is very old you would be better off with this one as it was the last one updated before the new downloads section here at SUBSIM. At least as far as mods are concerned.

Here

Maybe post that one as a separate thread in the SH3 Forums. You may get more responses.
