Well i,m sure the devs arent even aware of the problem . And if so i think it wont be adressed and its considered a minor cosmetic problem . Which makes me wonder if they are really such u-boat enthusiasts since if so they would have noticed this in the first place. Its comparable to the wrong deck railing in on the early VIIC in sh-3. It never got fixed , well at least not by the devs.

I'm sure one or two are viewing this forum from time to time to guage how the game is being received.

If I'm correct and there is to be at least one follow on patch I'm confident the issue will be resolved...at least I hope so.

Never should have clicked on this thread. I can't wait for this game to come out.

The one thing I've been trying to figure out. Back in SHIII when you were in close enough with a properly trained torpedo officer small target boxes would appear on the recognition manual.

You could target the keel the engine room, fuel tanks, etc, etc. To date I think it was only in SHIII but I could be wrong, but I'm really hoping it makes a return in this game. Some of my favorite moments were targeting the fuel tanks on a ship and seeing it go up in flames from one torpedo lol

CCIP, could you please confirm one thing, is it water flowing down the deck (not out of limber holes) on those stormy screenshots (best seen on screen with detailed conning tower)?
I was waiting for this feature for ages and it seems its finally in

Yep, I can confirm that. There will be "sheets" of water flowing off the deck/sides whenever a sub's deck breaks the surface.

I had to drop down the shadow quality to minimum and the AA to mid-level and it's very smooth. With that done it's only a bit sluggish for me in the u-boat pen. But that's because of my old video card, NV 8800GT. Rest of system is C2D 8400 3ghz, 5gigs RAM.

Bilge Rat i have a question.

Can you confirm that the zoom on your attack scope is x4

If so i have work todo later

Snip below from the C.B. 4328 Report on U-570 that were captured by the British and "disected"

Found here: http://www.uboatarchive.net/U-570BritishReport.htm

Quote:
Optical Arrangement. (see Sketch 15028.)

7. The sketch shows the probable arrangement of lenses and prisms within the periscope. In order to provide the fixed eyepiece arrangement, additional lenses are necessary.

Low Power.
Magnifications x1.5
Angular field 38°
Exit pupil 3.5 mm.

High Power.
Magnifications x6
Angular field 9°
Exit pupil 3.5 mm.

8. The top reflector gives an elevation movement of from - 15° to + 20°.

9. The optical performance in both powers is satisfactory.

10. The chief criticism is that the exit pupil is strongly chromatic at the side of the field. This gives the effect of changing colour of the field when eye is moved across the pupil.

11. Light transmission appears to be good and to indicate that the internal surfaces are treated with cryolite or similar substances. It has not been possible to examine any of the internal surfaces except the top objective below the top reflector. The top surface of that objective showed definite signs of having been surface treated.
