Warship running circles?
I'm sitting at 50m deep, 0 knots, and for about 24 hours straight my sonarman keeps reporting on a warship, and I can't understand what is going on! Is it running circles around another sub?

Welcome aboard!
alboverburn! In my unmodified SH-V there was an occasional nasty bug of a destroyer or escort shadowing the U-boat at a constant unchanging distance parallel to your course( Bearing 138-139 at of your starboard side)...never deviating, just annoyingly there! Clearly a defect in the basic game. I never used the nerdy soundman too much but it sounds like the bug escort. Pull in for a refit near friendly destroyers (Heglioland) or surface and/or crank up the time lapse to maximum to lose the escort. It worked for me-assuming your also unmodified.

Sounds like stock "sticky destroyer" bug... Just save/reload the game and it will "unstuck"...

I get this bug even running the latest Wolves of Steel modpack.

Bearing rarely changes. You could be at one of the harmonics and the ship is very far away.
