Default Paper Modeling

One of my hobbies for several years has been Paper Modeling.
There's some really killer models out there now!

Anyone else into the Paper modeling stuff?

Hi there!

Just gave paper modeling a shot about a year ago after decades of plastic modeling and it's great!
I recently finished my first model, the German WWII Warship "Blücher".

It's awsome how many different models are available, also there a lot of rare naval models to find which you won't find as plastic sets.

That's my adress to go to (Germany):

http://www.moduni.de/

Have a look!

I would love to see some pics of your models!

Greets!

Well, working with this new program to create Paper Models
is pretty Cool!

I've started with a simple project to learn the program.
It's not just an import a 3D object and it's done type thing.
I had to modify the base 3D object to get it to show correctly
in the program.
Then had to do some more playing around in 3D Max
to get it to break down the way I wanted.

Then I had to adjust things in the Program itself,
so it would fit on the lest amount of pages for printing.

This is a pretty simple model I've nearly finished.
And keeping with the SubSim thing of all things Submarine?

It's a U-Boat Captain's Cap.
Life size so you could wear it.

Once I get the first one done and test build it I
plan to make it available for anyone who wants to play with it.

Explain this paper modelling.. Is it like paper mache or something similar?

I looked at that website and saw the Bismark model and really impressed, but don't see how, in the world, paper of all things, could do that.

Its what you learned in kindergarten, taken to extremes... I am building the Enterprise A, but all it really is is taking patterns, cutting them out, gluing them together, and eventually, putting together a model.

Usually, I use Cardstock. because Ive seen too many models get crushed or simply wilt.
and Privateer, I downloaded a torrent full of interesting paper models, including a type IX and a VII. Tanks, a couple battleships, and the Eurocopter tiger are there too
