Default CTD with startdate 1940 onwards in GWX

Hi folks

My problem with GWX3 is that i crash everytime when i start a 1940 or 1941 campaign, 1939 campaigns seem to work fine.

I thought this might be memory overloading due to large traffic density in later years but i could also load heavy mods like
fm_interior, GWX wilhelms st. Naz Schleuse v6, MEP20km, Aces super turms 6 and even the very high polygonal new type IX models by Wise in single missions and 1939 campaign

Note: I encountered this problem even with a clean GWX3 installation without additional mods, so mod conflict is out of question

Can you help me

Best way to approach this would be for you to post your system specs and a full list of activated mods.

^ What Jim said.

And also...do you use the SH3 Commander? And if so, have you installed the GWX cfg. files for SH3 Commander?

Amd Athlon 7750 2x2.7GHz (~2x2.2/2.3 GHz in practice)
Radeon HD 5450 1 GB DDR3
2 gigs of Ram
and of course good ol' XP 32 bit

maybe it wasn't quite clear what I said. I used additional Mods for testing purpose but i am now experiencing these problems on a clean installation of Silent Hunter 3 1.4b + GWX 3.0

I made some testruns and here are the results:

1939 - Kiel/1.Flotilla works fine
1939 - Wilhelmshaven/2.Flotilla works fine
1939 - Koenigsberg/7;13.Flotilla no problems either

1940 - Kiel crash while loading
1940 - Lorient crash
1940 - St. Nazaire ""
1941 - Kiel ""
1941 - St. Nazaire ""
1942 - Bergen ""
1943 - La Spezia ""
1944 - Penang ""
1945 - Flensburg ""

it crashes with message "Silent Hunter III encountered a problem...blablabla"

So, only the 1939 startdate seems to work
I haven't tested proceeding into the next year with a 1939 career, so i don't know if it will crash

yes, i have SH3 commander installed, also with the GWX cfg files. However i haven't modified my GWX installation with it.

i could also think of a corrupted installation or JSGME made rubbish while disabling Mods.
So for now i'm going to delete everything and reinstall SH3+GWX and see if this fixes the problem

Ok reinstallation fixed the problem
(the crashes might have been caused by remaining mod files)

I have found that to be the best option. I have had problems in the past with rolling back all the JSGME mods, deleting the data file, and using a saved plain data file updated to 1.4b. A complete reinstall is always the best way to do it.

Good to know it worked out.
Reinstalling can be a bore, but if it works yay.

I try not to think about how many dozens of times I've reinstalled SH3 over the past eight-and-a-half years.
