SH3 Commander is actually an external tool that operates from your desktop. It works with any supermod or none at all, and doesn't care when it is installed.

Not even close to being a pest. There's almost no such thing here. Nobody seems to be happy until everyone's problems are solved.

Well, we did have one guy who asked a question and when he got an answer proceeded to argue and ask the same question over and over again...

But that's not you.

An Englishman should never apologise...they are never wrong...it is others that misinterpret the words

I should have mentioned that you only need the SH3 Commander CFG file if you intend to use Commander, I highly recommend that you do.

You can get Commander from here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...do=file&id=733

If you use it, install it after GWX3.0

Well here is an update......

Got all the files d/l JSGME & GWX3.0 & SH3 Commander

I decided to do at least 1 career before installing the mods so I can get used to the basics as I have been advised that GWX pretty much makes it a new Simulation.

One quickie on the installation GWX3.o says it installs JSGME 2 do I have to uninstall this before I install the latest JSGME?

As well passed all my exams and started my career last night.

1st patrol - Went ok once I worked out hydrophones dont work on the surface and was able to find ships, oh and stopped admiring the thunder storm in the north sea. Managed to sink 2 small merchants & attacked a C2 cargo with my last 2 torpedo's however the first didnt detonate so didnt manage to sink her.

2nd patrol - Before i left dock managed to add flak gun which I didnt know how to on the first. Managed to sink a C2 cargo and a coastal merchant up to now but only got 1 torpedo left but will have to see....

On a finishing note I have to say how FANTASTIC! SH3 is got so much to learn and so little time.....

JSGME is now up to 2.5, and no, you don't have to uninstall anything. The newest release can replace the older version in the Silent Hunter III folder and it will update automatically. You don't even have to disable the activated mods.

Best do it before you start a GWX3.0 patrol.

Did you pass the flak gun/aircraft training?

If you pass a couple of training missions you start with 1500 renown.

I don't usually bother and go straight into a career with 500.

your motivation is high, the navigation school could be hard, not like a "picnic" but your skill will be optimistic and well-meant.....

After patrol 6 i've earned all the medals, close 100k for career up to now.

Can I ask do you need to transfer to patrol outside the north sea or does it not matter and patrols change with the dates?
