Very good read, thanks for posting. Couple questions, what is 'depth a', and what does HE stand for?

HE stands for Hydrophone Effect, not a term actually used by the Germans as far as I know. I belief the English used this terminology.
A in depth A (or A-30m etc.) stands for Achtzig, which is German for eighty. A shorthand commonly used in the KTB to note the depth.
