What can give you CTDs is also your default media player.
Mine was by default Windows Media Player, and it couldn't read some of Stormfly's sounds files in the base mod
I downloaded VLC media player, and allowed for it to be the default one on my PC ---> no more random CTDs!
It's worth a try, because Stormys DBSM is THE sound mod imo

Thanks for the reply...

I did what you suggested. I also replaced the media player from windows
default to VLC Media player. I removed those mods you suggested Trevally,
and started a new campaign.

It didn't work, it crashed again as soon as I pressed Periscope depth. sigh

It's not the computer, it can handle any game on max, especially since I'm running Windows 7 Pro, with 32gb ram. Should be more than enough memory to handle any mod.

I hope stormy can come up with something, because I love this mod, it creates everything I've ever wanted for the interior of the sub. But, I won't give up! I'll find a way, or hopefully someone can suggest something else to try?

Thanks all

Neon

That's no luck! ...and not normal!
As you said, don't give up, it has to be a little thing your rig don't like with this mod

Ahhhhh I found it

It was because I didn't have these two mods:

Mightfine Crew Mod
MCD_1.04_MFCM_1.2.1_compatible mod

Put those in, in the right order and now it works fine

YAYYY lol...

Thanks all for your help. I went back to basics n went back
of the requirements of DBSM on stormy's page 1 of this thread lol

Now one question about commands.

I don 't like using arrow keys for movement, and would like to
change it back to ASDW, so I was wondering how I can do that?
I'm guessing it's changing something in commands.cfg???
Obviously it would involve changing the movement keys from
arrow keys to ASDW, plus also moving the key's now used as ASDW
to something else. D is dive, W is cycle tubes, S is surface and
not sure what A is used for atm.

Since the commands.cfg key mapping method is unfamilar to me
I'm hoping someone can post an example for me to cut n paste in please???

Thanks for all your help, much appreciated

Neon

Some help there would be much appreciated.

Stormy, I love your DBSM mod, it creates such great
immersion in game.

Now I don't speak german, and it's a bit frustrating
not being able to understand some of the things ppl
are saying. I do have english text, so I can understand
important stuff.

So I was wondering if you'd do one for english based on
Das Boot. If u wish to do it, here's a utube link for
an english vers of Das Boot (full movie) Hope u will
do one, tho it must be a helluva job to do.

Das Boot - full movie english on utube

Thanks for DBSM

Hey Guys

Quick question in regard to order for this mod, would this be the correct way to install this mod

Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 Basemod
Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 optional louder engine sounds
Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 optional scary creaks
Stormys_DBSM_additional_creaks_and_noises_1.0
Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 additional crew sounds beta6

It's just the order of the bottom two mods i am unsure about, or is Stormys_DBSM_additional_creaks_and_noises_1.0 an older version that i don't need?

Thanks all

...your order above works !

Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 Basemod
Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 optional louder engine sounds ------> i dont use that, i just made it by request, i use a much lower volume version than the normal exterrior diesel sound because of realism !
Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 optional scary creaks ------------------> is older and a bit overpowered, but more scary !
Stormys_DBSM_additional_creaks_and_noises_1.0 -----------> will replace the mod above, is newer, more advanced and a bit more realistic.
Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 additional crew sounds beta6 -------> this comes last, ok !

...now i have to RTFM !

i did a mistake in the post above regarding order and requirement:

Stormys_DBSM_additional_creaks_and_noises_1.0 -------> comes last and only if Stormys DBSM SH5 v1.3 additional crew sounds beta6 is installed !

Hi! First want to say that this truly is an amazing mod, that really add alot to the atmosphere of the game!

But is there any way to alter the keybindings introduced in the mod? I want to be able to move around with the WASD keys, for example. I have altered the "Commands" file in data/cfg but nothing happened.
