Newbie with crew problem

Hi folks!

I am completely hooked with SH5, and barely have time to eat. But I have a couple of issues unsorted in my gameplaying.

First of all, I am unsure how to go about the crew management part of it. Do I have to make daily rounds to say hi and ask them how their family is? Any other way to increase morale?

Also, I have never been able to shoot down a plane, because I find it impossible to aim with the binoculars to have the crew fire at will. Do I have to shoot them manually myself?

Also, how do I identify the ships I see in the periscope? Supposedly there is a crew member that can help me with this?

When those problems are sorted, I'll love the game even more. :-)
