Warships collide with each other
After I'm detected by a task force with 10+ warships (capital ships and destroyers), some ships will collide with each other and get on fire when initiating their depth charge attacks. One of the destroyers was cut in 2 pieces by a capital ship and both ships were stopped and on fire.
After a longer playing time where I try to escape underwater this will CTD my game after using external camera for too long (the CTD may not be related to the camera). I'm playing a modlist with OHII v.2.5. Has this happened to you? Did your game CTD? Can it be avoided? Thanks, Last edited by XenonSurf; 06-30-19 at 01:53 PM. |

The problem seems to be related to IRAI 0.41, I will have to investigate the posts in it. It's good that I have a program to search in topic pages

I never use external camera, but I always hear collision alarms overhead!

Yeah, this sirene always happens if you get too close to a ship, even with neutral ships. If you hear it, then destroyers are over you and you are in bad shape, they will drop depth charges soon, you should go flank speed for a short time because they can't hear you with the explosions
Battleships also switch their sirene on if attacked by planes or other ships. I think it means they are in 'Battlestation' mode then (?) |

The problem is located in the campaign files and OHII. The last OHII v.2.5 is not the best version, there is an 'improved' version somewhere but not available to download I think.
The CTD occurs when a main capital ship of a group is damaged. The game will CTD if you don't sink the ship soon enough and the escorts lose your track. In TWoS this has been corrected. |

Anyone playing without TWoS megamod, and with a modlist containing OHII v.2.5, it is highly recommended to also load OPEN HORIZONS II v2.5_TWoS Enhancement after the main OHII mod. This mod is inside the campaign enhancement for Sobers megamod, and you can download it here (24 Mb): http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/down...o=file&id=4906 Do only extract the folder above and do not install anything else, because only intended for Sober's megamod. However the mod above should work well with OHII and resolve a lot of CTDs caused from what I say in my posts above. Readme is included from vdr1981. |

Does this solve the collision alarms? Or are you talking about something else? Or is this for external camera ctd?

Adding the mod above will expressly remove this bug, and add a lot of campaign improvements to OHII - like in WoS, it will be much harder to make port raids. Also a lot of stability for the game is added due to convoy and task force composition/behavior changes (vdr1981's Readme is much more exhaustive). Does it remove the sirene? I'm testing now, I will report back! . XS |
