Hi,

First of all, excellent mod, I'll test it in my next game.
I just saw the video presentation, and one thing surprised me: the update of the distance by the TDC.

I know it's a feature that the American submarines had, but for the Germans it's a different story.
I'm playing SH5 right now with the TWOS mod, and I have to update the distance before every shot. Otherwise, it stays at the last indicated value.
I'm no expert in the field, but this is the only detail that jumped out at me.

Beautiful work Ruby, TY for your efforts. Like one of the previous postings said, I am having more fun than the law allows playing this game, and this mod should be a wonderful- immersion enhancing addition. Will add in as soon as I start a new scenario. Perhaps along with new update (fingers crossed.)
Happy Hunting......

That’s spot on. Whereas the American device had a position keeper, the German one did not. However, the German one had a feature called “Lage laufend”, which in this mod, and in reality, was the switch at the bottom to tell the computer to update AOB as the bearing changed (ie the optics were moved).

The Americans use their TDC as a tool to refine the solution, whereas the Germans used theirs simply as a calculating device for the gyro angle. The Germans tried to shoot at the smallest Gyro angles possible, thereby eliminating range from the equation.

Okay, that makes me feel better. The German system automatically updates only the AOB and not the distance like the American system.
Ruby2000, you'd have to change that to have a historically valid system. Sorry

Thank you for this cool and wonderful mod.

Now, can anyone help me enable it? I downloaded and try to put it in the MODs folder of jsgme, but... Kinding the last part, the question is valid, I subscrived the mod and think that it download by the steam launcher, but it still didn't appear in the game.

Hi nazaka,

the distance is not automatically updated. Where did you see that? I'm using the stadimeter for that.

Hi Rhodes,

thank you!

Yes, you have to subscribe to the mod and then activate it in the Game Launcher. You can also find it in the library of Uboat in steam.

Cheers Ruby

Ruby’s implementation is correct.
