Default [wip] 20,000 leagues under the sea mod

okay, in short, i am working on a mod that integrates the Nautilus from the disney movie 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

this is what i have in mind and are working on right now-

-integrating the model into sh3, i may need a little help in making the tower and such fit, please let me know if you are able to help!
-increasing hitpoints to make multiple attacks on merchant shipping.
-decreasing periscope depth to "attack depth" where the sub will hit the ship.
-various mods to sounds to make it sound more like the Nautilus.
-tweaking the files to proper speeds (45 knots at flank!((as indicated in the book, i did my homework guys))) ranges (early form of nuclear power)
-giving the submarine names not U numbers
-other various little things.

this is just a playable submarine, and GUI mod.
if yopu are interested, please let me know! i need support people!
lol

actually, thomsen, i am working on completely integrating a new nautilus, with it's own NSS_Nautilus file, borrowed from the type 7. no torpedos, no deckguns. so far i have the hull in, but no tower, (or its invisible) and the hull looks messed up (the outside plating of the hull doesnt show up if you are looking directly at it)....this may be because im in museum, and i need to find a way to make it selectable in singlemissions...

well, guys, advice is welcome, this is my first full on undertaking of building a working ship in game....i am only using pack3d, and sh3minitweaker, because s3d is being weird and not working on my computer.but i need help making the propeller show up (one propeller only,) making it selectable in the campaign and single missions, and to get the tower working right. after that, its really just gui and imagination!

as i have found
Task_Force, it certainly isnt easy, i may have to just modify the type 7...which i really dont wanna do. i wish to have my own standalone modso as not to make anyone confused....ill load up a screenshot of what i see in the museum later tonight...
again if any ship modders wish to help, please let me know!!!!

How long, in meters, was the nautilus?

I readed the book long ago, don't remember.

You're gonna set the nautilus to have a great weight and a hard hull, so we can sink merchants using impact of the bow?

But the model is going to be a direct copy off the Harper Goff's disney nautilus?

Well about the Nautilus of Jules Verne, this is one or possibly the most complete about that:
http://home.att.net/~karen.crisafulli/nautilus.html

Hope that will help!

@thomsen- the Harper Goff Nautilus (my model) was 248 feet long
@rhodes- i saw that site before, a few of the links are dead though
@tackforce- when you can simply ram the destroyer?!
@hartmann- that would be cool...but not my forte, so to speak

wha was the maximum depth of nautilus?

ingame, you cannot go above 500meters, the game crashes.
