Destroyers More Aggressive
I would like to see the Destroyers more aggressive. I mean more in a fierce
hunting mode once ships have be torpedoed. Also, with the destroyers being drawn from miles around in response to the sub attack. I do not mean they need to be more accurate or given greater ability to detect the sub, that is excellent as is. Can anyone fill me in on how or if that can be done?:hmm: -ZeeWolf |

Mild destroyers, you say? No way They are mean and alert.
Phew, I just barely escaped two destroyers hunting me for 3 hours (game time) in 1939, playing OM400. And I had no chance to even launch a torpedo. One of them spotted my scope and in minutes they were upon me, coordinated tactics. One stood still to listen and the other charged. I am still repairing my aft torp room, with critical flooding, 24 hours after the attack. And this is just the beginning of the war |

more aggresive reponse to a convoy attack by the distant escorts let's say. Although I agree, once they are on you and made detection your in trouble or more like . I like that. -ZeeWolf |

maybe if you set them to always be "alerted" they will act as you wish but they may need to have a tartget in order to be alerted. :hmm:

In SHIII they were not so passive (since I’m not a ship killer as some here, to me that’s a good thing). I remember attacking a convoy, and they take their time to start chasing me -plenty of time to sink those juicy tankers and troop transports In SHIII I was dead very often.
Now in SHIV my IID is practically invisible to them . |

If SH3 had just a few of the new features like the transparent water surface and a some of the SFX inhancements I wouldn't even be wasting my time. Although I do see a greater potential for SH4 and let me mention that the things that are right in SH4 I really like, for instance the new crew is impressive. -ZeeWolf |

When I compare SH4 stock,
to SH3 stock? I see little difference myself. If I add any GWX mod? Those sensors are changed!! It's easy to change the settings. What is hard is to try to find a balance! From reading? Some, if not all, the Pacific Mods address this issue. As they address other issues also. I don't download all the mods for the Atlantic in SH4. So I'm not aware of what they do totally. |
