Default how to reduce enemy escorts night vision

running TMO 2.1 with RSRD.Running a mod that cuts down escorts visuals to reasonable range in daytime but their night vision is still a little too sharp. For example, I was running a night surface attack on a convoy with two escorts, one forward and one trailing.I moved in slow to about 3700 yards on a dark night(quarter moon which was not out at moment) and light fog.The escort spotted me once it passed and was about to shoot at the merchants.Bit much for it spot me suddenly after its passed a ways up when at a near dead stop at almost 4000 yards.

How do I go about reducing it? I tried opening the file in the visuals mod with S3D but not sure what to do.Thanks in advance.

What knots were you going? I think below 7 kts you are in the somewhat safe territory from escorts. If you go deck awash and slow....things are will be very good for you. I know I can get in under 1500 yards going low and slow.

I didn't realize the visual settings were different for night and day. With TMO 2.1 you may have noticed they now shoot at you from long ranges, not sure if he also adjust visuals for that, but would assume so. Fairly sure you would have to adjust the visuals for each sperate class.

I loaded the large DD pack in a seperate install from Madmax. He also adjusted radar, visuals, loadouts, ect.. I've only played a few patrols with it. I love the look of the DD's, really don't notice much difference yet, but the loadouts. The DD's seem to have more Y guns, the escorts less. Type A-d's now carry K guns. They do throw different patterns, seems much wider and dump more charges from the rear, but some escorts are a lil nerfed compared to RSRD.

Still, with TMO 2.1 and .2 I could pull off surface attacks 2000 yards at night under right conditions. Only problem you get in that close, once the torp hits they find you fast, lights come on and everything unloads on you, so you're forced to dive. Now I set up from the stern so I can shoot and run away.

edit the light factor in the visual section of the SIM.cfg file. IIRC the higher the factor the stronger the night effects the view distance but I can't check atm
