Did you install the mod itself via JSGME?
That is the real part. And you don't have to start the speech recognition, it will do everything by itself when you load the game.

@mobbe123

Are you using TDW's NewUI 6.5.1?
It's a requirement for the version of Speech Recognition you're using!
As KarlKoch said, install it after NewUI 6.5.1.

Then you should have an mic-icon the right bar, where you can dial in confidence level and apply it ingame. Here you should check if Speech Rec is active, which is not the case for TDW NewUI 6.5.1.

Yes I did. Do you start the mod first and then sh5?
when in the game is there anything showing that the mod is working?

You can test commands by running this exe

C:\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter 5\SHSpeechEngineTest.exe

My rudder orders are inverted, for instance if I order 4 deg to port a man replies yes sir 4 deg to starboard.
Is there a easy way I can fix it?

Thanks

Look into your appropiate "Commands.xml". Search for the word "Set_rudder" (with underline). You will find 2 orders, one has the word "starboard" inside the <phrase></phrase> part, while the other has the word "port" inside <phrase></phrase>.
below the appropiate <phrase></phrase> you will find one line for each order, with <commandText></commandText>.
Now, one of the 2 parts (port/starboard) should have a <commandText param2="1"></commandText>.
Delete the param2="1" from the one line and add it (the same way it was) to the other line. This should reverse your orders.
I hope you could understand my explanation, otherwise, report back and we find another solution.

First thanks for the quick reply, in the SHSpeech Engine Test it works as it should, in game it is still inverted even after the change's.
Here's a pic of the XML after change's

At first, you should not limit the lines to the width of the window. There is an option in "format" for that. Then you can see the structure much better.
Are you sure that you edit the correct xml file? Cause what you did there should not work at all. If you are editing the file in the \mods\data\sound\speech\ directory, you have to disable and reenable the mod in JSGME (if its alongside TDWs UI, you have to disable and reenable that.
Maybe it is easier to make the changes in the \data\sound\speech\ directory directly. Hope you get what i am talking about.

However, the selected line must be between <commandText param1="1"> and </commandText>.

So it must look like this: <commandText param2="1">Set_rudder</commandText>.

KarlKoch,
Thanks for your help, I think I read somewhere that your working on a new and improved version so I hope I didn't pull you away from your work just to deal with my miner issue.
I think for now I'll just resort to the easy button and reverse my orders to get the results I'm looking for.
Thanks again and I'll keep an eye out for your version.

Actually, MiTon did basically the same that i had done. Skwasjer and me had some more improvements in the pipe, but skwasjer ran out of time for this, so i could not release my work because it would be incompatible with 1.4.

But MiTon actually does a pretty good job.

If it's not asking too much, and it you're not too busy would you mind making the changes to a copy of the xml file and uploading it somewhere?

Thanks
