...and Hell Week at the VA is over.

I went in on Tuesday expecting the (now) dreaded "double tap" of a Moderna booster and flu shot on the same day. The nurse told me I was also due for a Shingles booster, which surprised me since I don't even own a roof. But I managed to get that one pushed down the road until the next visit.

Felt crappy but I needed to rebound ASAP since I also had an eye exam yesterday where, like clockwork, I got my eyes dilated so I looked like a heroine addict for the rest of the day.

Then they punched my card and said I was done for now...

Next up will be one hour of bliss in the MRI scanner* and a sit-down with the Neurology Dept. , but that's in February.

*- I learned how to P. O. an MRI Tech during my first ride in the tube. I fell asleep, which is really bad.
"You're kidding me, right? It sounds like a scrap yard in there and you fell asleep??"

Give me a shingles boost any day, our roof is leaking
Seriously i'm not so sure, on one hand it's good there's some vaccine against this (wife already got it), on the other a friend got the Guillain-Barrée syndrome through getting a flu shot. With my MS stuff i'm getting maybe a bit too cautious against all those shots
Just got a half-year's infusion on monday and felt like the crap i am. Sobering

The fridge, the (garaged)freezer, and the AC...hopefully?? We'll know better when it's all done with finally; and my wife is happy...hopefullly. Fortunately, the battery system can go on the exterior stucco and not in the garage, which would have necessitated removing a cabinet and stored gardening equipment. I'm not giving up my extensive power-failure collection of flashlights and candles jus' yet!

Get on the Interferon bandwagon and you'll get over that "shot" thing really fast.
You get to do a needle every other day.
Now-a-days I'm an injection critic.

WARNING, THE FOLLOWING IS MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE AND SHOUD NOT BE CONSIDERED AS "ONE SIZE FITS ALL". When in doubt, ALWAYS trust you Neurologist.

During my sit-down with my G.P. Doc, he told me he agreed with my plan to go "free range" with the MS meds and wished me well. A little confirmation can feel really good.

Went into town earlier today with the wife for groceries and on the way back came across HMS Diamond who had just reached her berth less than a mile from our place of abode.

A marten (This fella) decided that the cablework in my car must be tasty food. Fortunately it didn't find the high-voltage cables but only those for the heating system.
Bloody bugger, driving at temperatures below the freezing point with no heating isn't fun.

Our State Gov't's been having a big fight with the Train Union for the past almost 2 years. On and off strikes and go slows. So this week our p'ed off Transport Minister says "free travel for a week for Joe Public".

I took the opportunity to go to the Airport and have a look around ( normally $15 each way ). Last time I was there was just before covid.

The tourists are back in droves, the place was buzzing with activity. I hung around the Food Court ( they've got a viewing deck, you can watch the planes land and take off ) A lot of normal gentle takeoffs, but some where they positively leap into the air - people watching going "ooh wow look at that".

A lot of cafes still shut - signs out the front "Staff Wanted". No takers ??

Cabin Crew of all nationalities, pretty stewardesses in their designer uniforms.

It was a nice day.

Default Anti-social behaviour

A family of 'Do-Rights' down the road from my mother in law have recently fostered some problem kids. Now suddenly there are reports starting on the village facebook page about youths trying to get into peoples' cars, even in the very road where this bunch have moved in. And Moira's mother has had people creeping about in her back yard in the middle of the night leaving gates open - never happened before. She's 78, lives alone and is now scared - there's never been such trouble on this housing estate - they're all owner-occupiers and decent people who look out for one another. COULD it be just coincidence? In a pig's eye

I just said to Moira as we passed their place that I'd like to creep onto their drive at night, let their tyres down and shove a potato up the exhaust... see how they like a bit of ASB

"But it weren't me, honest - it were an old bloke - that one who's mother in law lives up t' road"

"Him? Pull the other one ya little bleeper - he doesn't look like he could tear his way out of a wet paper bag"

I just found some old Victorian "Stereo-view" slides on ebay. I discovered that if I sit about 20 inches away from the pictures of them on my laptop and squish my eyeballs from the sides with my index fingers, I can get the 3-D effect for free with no expensive equipment required
