Out of suden my sound is running really choppy.

Like the title says. Up until now the computer was running smoothly. Day before yesterday I started experiencing sudden lag in playing all sounds: they all have sort of lag, popping and metallic echo. Including Windows system sounds.
Also seems to me that graphics in the games chops a little...

Avast came up clean, nothing reported by Spybot.
Ran CCleaner, didn't help.
Running Ad-Aware now.

This is really annoying! Can anybody help me?
Thanks!

EDIT: Ad-Aware just finished running with no results.

When you say all of a sudden I will assume you made no other changes in your software and drivers.

Stop looking at the software and start looking at the hardware.

Check all the connections and clean if necessary.

That includes the sound card itself. Try re-seating it.

(Assuming its a descrete sound card)

Oh and congrats on returning to the Sunshine state !

That's correct. I have not installed any additional software or hardware. It just happened out of sudden. I have noticed (in PC Wizard) that my processor (and both cores) were running hotter than usual. I have taken the case outside and cleaned (substantial) deposits of dust.
Maybe the machine was running too hot.
Anyway, I will see if it helps.

As far as move to Florida goes, I'm not there yet. The move is scheduled for the end of May. I can't wait. I'm sick of Ohio.

Believe it or not, blowing all the dust out and cleaning all the fan's grilles actually fixed the isue.
Wow!

Its amazing how at times to fix something you merely have to take it apart and put it back together again

Poo, I just come in when the excitement has ended!!
Glad it's all going well again, always pays to clean the system out regularly, remember in humid weather that the dust turns to mud, this is not good!!
