Default Crew berthing : Just to be sure

Sorry to ask such a noob question, but i am new at Operation Monsun (by the way, what a mod, thanks Lurker !).

I read the manual and the posts on the forum, but maybe because english is not my native language, i can't be sure of the crew management in OM.

I am currently commanding a type IIB sub. This type has 3x3 deck watch posts, 3x1 conning tower posts, and 1x6 crew berthing posts.

I have understood that crew berthing emplacements purpose is to protect deck watch crewmen from depth charges damage, right ?

So, the correct way to handle crew is :

- On normal operating (i.e. surfaced), deck watch is crewed, but conning tower and crew berthing are empty.

- When attacked by a destroyer, the deck watch crew must be taken out of danger, by transfering the 6 crewmen to the crew berthing emplacements and the 3 officers to the conning tower emplacements.

Is that correct ?
