But then in the US, we kill ourselves more than we kill others.

Homicide in 2014 is at an all time low of 4.5 per 100,000 but suicide is still high at 12 per 100,000. And those are only for successful. Attempted numbers get a bit more complicated.

About 117 people are successful in suicide every day and about 44 people die of homicide every day.

So, yes, it can be said the the US is a violent society, but we are violent more to ourselves than to others.

Tidying up a few loose ends with regard to christmas shopping but in all honesty the wife has done the lions share by a long way.

Rotten Tuesday morning with this and that, just made my appointment to see my GP which ended on being told I may have a burst sciatica so a need a X-Ray and a possible steroid injection. Got stuffed with a £28 subscription for strong pain killers and anti inflammatory pills and the bus home was a nightmare.
