You are absolutely correct. I just wanted to show the guys that an AOB can be found visually at any degree with simple rules of thumb, and we both know that a 90 deg angle is not always possible. I think the more tools at our disposal is better. Plus with the Dick Okane method the video shows map contacts which I never use. my methods are at 100% realism, so my errors in plotting a target course can mean I have to visually get AOB. Sometimes ships can come out of fog, or if we are attacking destroyers, we need a quicker method to get the AOB. Plus I do this method most days, and I have a great time doing it!
