Default jimimadrid HUD

Changes the HUD and top bar graphics to a more mechanical look.

9 different buttonstyles, Vanilla uses only 4
Toggle switches and toggle buttons are easy to distinguish

Since several lines in the Menu_1024_768.ini and the Ordersbar.cfg have to be changed, the SH_menumerger (included) must be used.Please use version 1.6 or upper, as the previous versions cannot change two different target files.

Please install jimimadrid HUD Mod first with the JSGME and then merge with the SH_MenuMerger. All mods can be selected individually. Please keep the order. Different choices for FotRS and TMO

question:

with all of the fine work you have out into this series of mods, have you discovered a way to display the course as opposed to the rudder position?
i would much rather see the course changes tick off than the rudder position. in fact i have never used that feature in all of the missions i have played.

no complaint here...just asking if there was a way to display course as digits rather than the rudder.

thanks!!!

You do kind of have that KM with the compass displaying the heading, but the game does not have the logic for you to order "Bring her to 342T NOW!!!" and have the helmsman say "Aye aye, sir! 32 degrees rudder to port, bringing her to 342T!" For one thing, I do better math than the game, and doing such as that would involve something higher than algebra ( ), like (shudder) that trig-oh-not-me stuff... "TILT TILT TILT"...

Excellent stuff jimimadrid! Now, if we could just get you the code for the executable for SH4, and have you tweak directly in there...

That was the goal of the entire jimmadrid MOD series.
To give you the feeling of playing a new game from a graphical point of view.
Unfortunally my 3D Skills are too bad to give you, like Propbeany is doing, a really new Game.

Yeah, this would be fine.

Propbeany, maybe you have an idea:
I would like to add a lever in the periscope view to manually incrementally raise and lower the periscope.
Just as it goes with the German submarines in SH4.

Well... imagine that! I've been looking off and on at doing that also... I was thinking of trying to tie into the Insert/Delete and the PageUp/PageDown keys, but... zee skeelz, zay are lacking no?? lol - I am lost. So I was going to try to "copy" the section in menu_1024_768 for the U-Boats - if it's possible - and see what happens in the experimental labs here, I mean, besides smoke and CTDs...

This is technically impossible. The German and American interfaces are controlled by two differentsections of code in sh4.exe - this code works in different ways. The lever will not work for the Americans.

Yeah, i see.

Triyng to add new ItemID's to the Menu_1024_768 i get everytime a CTD with Missing MenuID blabla...
This means i'm missing where the ID's nbrs are managed.

My idea is to add a dial in the Dials.cfg to add the Periscope_up and periscope_down function.

Somebody some tips for me?

Another great mod!! Hi Jimimadrid, you are like a scarecrow - outstanding in your field. A question that has nothing to do with this previous work but you are very good at interfaces - do you know how to increase the size of the crew special abilities icons? Like the green "MASTER ENGINEER" symbol in the picture below....I would like them to be maybe 2x - 2.5x bigger than they are now.... enlarged from 28 x 28 to 56 x 56 pixels ?

I understand where the images are (in data\menu\skins\[nationality]\gui\layout but I don't understand how cropping/enlarging works with menu1024.ini or your editing tools. Thank you!!

OK I found this stuff in menu1024.ini

I'm wondering if maybe I could replace the material data/menu/Skins/American/gui/layout/JM-CrewSystemsManagement.tga with my own tga file?? Still not sure how cropping numerical values are generated (I understand basic principle...it tells where the pixels for a certain button, etc are located?)

You can use the SH_MenuEditor.

You have to change this settings: (This changes the icon size on the noticeboard.)

[G61 I55]
Display= 2;linear
Zone= 538 326 40 40 0 1 0x61030004 1 -0.5 0x6103000A 0 0.5 10 0

[G61 I56]
Display= 2;linear
Zone= 510 326 40 40 0 1 0x6103000E 1 -0.5 0x61030004 0 0.5 10 0

[G61 I57]
Display=2;linear
Zone= 482 326 40 40 0 1 0x61030003 1 -0.5 0x6103000E 0 0.5 10 0

[G61 I58]
Display= 2;linear
Zone= 454 326 40 40 0 1 0x61030010 1 -0.5 0x61030003 0 0.5 10 0

This changes the iconsize on the Photo

[G61 I99]
Zone= 507 659 40 40 0 1 0x61050000 1 -1 0x61050003 -1 0.5 0 0

Here a little Demo with 40x40 pixel

PS:

Display= 0;No stretch = The graphic use the same pixel in the zoneline as in the Cropline.

Display= 2;linear = the graphics from the cropline will be enlarged/minimized to the setting of the Zoneline.

Take this everytime in mind

Hope this helps
