radar Thermal layer

I wonder if the game takes into account the thermal layer (thermocline) that affect/distort sonar pings ..

By reflexes (or old habits) I try to dive below 200 meters when able, that is about the minimal depth of said thermal layer in the Atlantic.

Otherwise than this, I guess the only viable option is the Alberich anti-sonar coating, freshly available in my campaign.

Any thoughts on this matter ?

Only via SH3 Commander are thermal layers present and then only if your install matches the hex addresses of the relevant file.
I.e., the addresses in Commander are for the stock ai_sensors.dat file but various megamods have files to add to Commander with their hex addresses.
So long story short: Not in stock without Commander, maybe in megamod with Commander. Even with Commander it is a randomized event so they may be present.............or not.

Look at the randomizedevents.cfg file in the Commander cfg folder. Near the top will be the thermal layer info.
