Considering the size of feral hogs in Texas (100-400 lbs.) I don't think I would use anything smaller than a .243 since you want to kill them, not wound them.

You could always trap them and shoot them at your leisure after Sunup.

TBH having a Subsim member stand watch would be your best bet.

Offer them a free copy of Aces of the Deep () and they'll do it.

And things like this do not happen that rarely.

Estimations for how many there are, range between 5 and 10 thousand. And that was years ago. Huntiong programs are beign run, but shooting inside cities is something that has the authorities on their toes.

@ Skybird, I don't know why you (Berlin) tolerate them, the government/police should round them up into trucks and take them away for slaughtering!!

Jeezus, old naked dudes and wild pigs on the beach! That's just messed up.

Seriously, 5 to 10,000 is not too bad, but as you know, they reproduce rapidly, almost a quickly as rabbits. In a few years you may see a lot more pigs.

Even though hunters and trappers are killing approximately 30 percent of the hog population in Texas annually, hog numbers are still growing by about 20 percent each year. Biologists and wildlife managers estimate that 70 percent of the hogs in the state will have to be killed each year just to maintain the population and even more must be killed to actually start reducing their numbers. Unfortunately, hog hunting and trapping are already going nearly full bore in Texas. Right now, these operations are taking less than half the number of hogs necessary to stop their explosive population growth and it's doubtful this can be achieved by those with trapping and hunting alone.

There's an estimated 6-9 million in the southern US, with 2.5 million in Texas alone.

This.

The link to the pigbrig I listed seems pretty straightforward. They go under the net but then can't lift it up to get back out - trapped and ready to be dispatched with your forearm of choice.

You do not know the chaos troop the anarchic, extreme left-leaning and crime-loving layman-senate is. Its the worst of all the 16 state governments, and by a huge lead so.

Berlin is a dump. Plain and simple. Terrible incompetence meets ultra-left ideology.

Police officers flee in flocks from service in that state. They have their noses full. Since not all of them find equivalents in other states with whom they could change (a precondition), not few even accept to permanently quit. And you do nto have many candidates volunteering for moving to and doing service in Berlin anymore. It was not always that bad. But now it is.

When I left West-Berlin 30 years ago, hogs were somewhat rare, btw.

Moonlight mentioned this in my own thread Euromillions, where he mentioned donkeys as guard.
It has to be the right type of donkeys though
