Week 10 in Subsim Fantasy Football and we have been treated to the best game of the year so far. It had close scores, back and forth, and even some profanity before the first whistle was blown.
And in other news, two more ghost teams got wins.

Let's go to Oregon first where all the action happened in the pre game warm up. The Who Dat Nation Rises were hosting the visiting Guns of Hochuli in town for a must won game for both sides. The Nation are slowly beginning a downhill slide that resembles a ghost team. The Gunners leader, Coach Casey has been in and out of the waiver all year but never really put a full team on the field. This week, they arrived in Eugene needing to do battle and arrived at the grounds early, while the Who Dat Nation was practicing Words were exchanged, dirty looks given, and then someone let fly with a "your momma" joke and a brawl ensued. Seven (7) players were tossed from the grounds before the first whistle was blown, and the game became an episode of "survivor" - last player standing. Stefan Diggs (WR) was the stand out player - even more incredible when you consider that Kyler Murray (QB) was ejected in the pre game melee. Who Dat Nation get home in a low scoring against the Guns of Hochuli 90-56.

In Carolina, the third place Black Cats were hosting the 5th place Drunk Monkeys. Both teams have been operating without a coach (again) for much of the season, and again, the Drunk Monkeys put up an impressive "hand off" display of scoring. The Monkeys were playing with just one player on vacation while the Black Cats had two off the starting team. The Monkeys however, put up another Cowboy-esque display just romping all over the Cats. The Drunk Monkeys put up an impressive 142 point scoreline to defeat the Black Cats, 92.

Our Match of the day was a beauty as we go across the pond to Wembley. After landing the Australian Taipans were in discussion with Marquis Brown (WR) and Tennessee (DEF). Speculation is that Mister Chris got word and picked them up off the waiver wire before Coach Pioneer could make an offer. Apparently, there was incensed profanity, particularly when Coach Chris did NOT play Brown (WR) on Thursday. This was a good move and set up Sunday with the Taipans and Nighthawks taking the field at the same time. The score moved back and forth early, before the Nighthawks took the lead and a foot chase for the Taipans ensued into Sunday evening. Going into Monday night, the teams were separated at just 0.5 points apart - and both had key players still to field. With six (6) minutes to go in the game, Deebo Samuels (WR) crossed for a touchdown and put the Taipans ahead. The Nighthawks were relying on Greg Kittle (TE) and Cooper Kupp (WR) to get them over the line, and when Cupp (WR) exceeded 100 receiving yards, it put the Nighthawks head just enough that the Taipans dismal performance by Matthew Stafford (QB) wasn't enough. Helmand Nighthawks win the game in a thrilling chase in the last 78 seconds of the week, defeating the Australian Taipans 155.08 - 153 .02.

So where does that lead us?

The Taipans still lead the league but have carried at least two (2) injured players every week this year, and now it's up to three. But for those injuries, the Taipans could have their playoff berth already cemented.


The Nighthawks hold down second place, and it's looking more or less like the Torpedo Bowl could be a repeat of this weeks game, if the Nighthawks can stop losing to non play off teams.

The Black Cats are the current #3 seed at 5-5 as they come into the meat of their schedule. They are still in contention to win the division even though Coach FYC is now listed a "missing person" in Carolina.

The Win by the Drunk Monkeys elevates them up the ladder and puts them into a three way tie with the Guns of Hochuli and the Who Dat Nation Rises. On count back, the Who Dat Nation Rises drops to the #6 seed, a position that they have not seen in the history of the league. The powerhouse era of Coach Fuel For Blood may be over.

Next week come back to the USA and deep into the heart of Texas where the Guns of Hochuli will be hosting the Australian Taipans. The Gunners have got to get the win over the Taipans in this game if they want to win the division. The Taipans need to put the Gunners away so they can start eliminating+- traditional power house teams (like the Who Dat Nation) from the playoffs. This game has as much riding on it for the two teams as does the remainder of the league.

Week 11 in Subsim Fantasy Football and before we get to gobble down and give thanks, we have to go around the grounds and find out who choked, who spilled their dessert, and who got lucky and advanced to the playoffs.

Texas. It was hot and steamy, an unusual weather pattern had settled over the ground. The air hung heavy, and the men were stretching their collars to let the sweat run down. On the field, the Guns of Hochuli were hosting the visiting Taipans. The Gunners have made pop appearances this year, making advances on the waiver wire, but they left the Rams (DEF) as starters while they were on vacation. The Gunners got some unheralded support though from the Taipans who started the Bills (DEF) who recorded the first negative score of the year, -4, to shorten the field for Coach Casey. Nick Chubb (RB) carried the ball for the Gunners, but he was the only stand out performer on the team. Conversely, the Taipans Patrick Mahonnes (QB) once again struggled as the back up QB, and the Taipans needed the combined force of McCafferty and Nixon (RB) to cool the night night off and hand the Gunners another loss. The win becomes significant as it elevates the Taipans to 4-0 within the division, and depending on other games, enables the Taipans to be the first team to clinch a playoff berth this year. Australian Taipans hold off the late charging Gunners 155 - 121.

In North Carolina, the Black Cats were hosting the visiting Who Dat Nation. This game has significance to play off seeding as both team are still in contention, ghosting their way through the season into the play offs. Both the Cats and the Nation benched their starting quarterbacks, Lamar Jackson and Kyler Murry respectively, and let the game play out with second grade players. Austin Eckler (RB) was the single stand out player of the game, as the Black Cats stormed through the Who Dat Nation Rises Again to a lopsided win of 152 - 84.

Best match of the weekend was the Drunk Monkeys hosting the Helmand Nighthawks. The Monkeys have shown that on their own, they are the best damm ghost team in the league, and with a performance like this year, they easily could have won every single game. As it is, they have already defeated the Helmand Nighthawks twice this year, a third victory to the Monkeys would throw the countback for the division into turmoil with the Monkeys holding the decider. Johnathon Taylor (RB) came out and had a second career day against the Nighthawks, ringing up 59 points on his own. Monkeys would need every one of those points as they had three players on vacation not starting the game. Playing three men up the Nighthawks trailed the Monkeys significantly through the weekend, and it was not until late Sunday that Tyree Hill (WR) was able to bring the Nighthawks within scoring distance of the final score. The Monkeys had no one scheduled for Monday night, whereas the Nighthawks had Terrific Tom Brady (QB) just waiting to unleash, covering the deficit before too long. Brady (QB) would go on to make the scoreline respectable, after it looked like being a thriller. Final score, the Helmand Nighthawks defeat the Drunk Monkeys 140 - 113.

With the week 11 scores in the book, we now have to start looking at what this means for the league.

The win by the Taipans elevated them to 8-3 but at 4-0 within the division, they become the first team to secure a playoff berth. Their final seeding will be decided over the next two weeks.

The Helmand Nighthawks, although having defeated the Taipans twice this year, are a game behind at 7-4. the Nighthawks are fighting for their lives to win the division as the other teams the keep winning unexpectedly. The win over the Drunk Monkeys means that the tie breaker is still undecided in the division.

The Black Cats come in as the third seed this week at 6-5 and are the best placed ghost team in the league. They're in the same division as the Nighthawks are are still contending to win the division. If the Nighthawks let the Cats win the division, in all probability, those two teams will meet in the first round of the playoffs.

After this it gets a little murkier and hard to decipher. The Who Dat Nation Rises, Guns of Hochuli and Drunk Monkeys are all tied at sub .500%. The Nation are the powerhouse team but without their Coach, they're just another ghost team. The Monkeys for the umpteenth season are running on good intentions only, it's the Guns of Hochuli that's unknown. Coach Casey has made waiver wire moves during the season and just a few more corrections could see this team still make the playoffs.

With week 12 being the longest weekend of football for the year, we looked at the forthcoming matches and picked the Australian Taipans at home against the Black cats for the match of the week. The Taipans playing in a rented stadium will start underdogs to the Black Cats, as the Taipans have been riddled with injuries at running back. Their quarter backs have been hit and miss, and the wide receiving corp barely able to score. The Black Cats need to beat the Taipans to stop them from winning the division, which could be wrapped up this weekend.

Nighthawks May Have Eliminated Who Dat Nation

Week 12 in Subsim Fantasy Football. It's the longest week in football, and it's come with drams, intrigues, injuries and out first playoff position clinched. The week was marred by turkeys, hams, and yams, while players put on fifteen pounds between Thursday and Sunday.

From the early morning hours of Thursday morning, to the late Monday night, we had games going on around the world as we approach the play offs and sort of who should be in there, and who shouldn't be there. But sometimes, the sorting is not that clear. Lets go to Texas first.

The Guns of Hochuli were hosting the Drunk Monkeys. The Gunners head coach Casey has been aimlessly drifting in and out of the league this year and on occasions has had a far better performance when they drifted away, then when they were here. The Drunk Monkeys, well, they are the proverbial head scratches as they continue to get wins amid the questions of "how the hell did they do that? This week, the head scratching was on both sides of the field as both ghost teams saunter through the day. The Gunners were first on the board early Thursday with the Drunks playing a number of players late Thursday afternoon, and also, giving RDO's to some of their players n the biggest week of football. The Monkeys were always going to come up short in this game with three players out, so much so, that the Gunners could have benched their Monday night starters - and still won the game. The Guns of Hochuli get a win with a score that looks narrower than what it actually occurred. Final score, Guns of Hochuli 134 Defeat the Drunk Monkeys 76.

Our international teams were home this year for Thanksgiving, with the Helmand Nighthawks hosting the Who Dat Nation Rises. The Nighthawks have sustained some unpleasant losses this year which has robbed them of storming through the league - as they have in past years. Their long time divisional rivals coasted into town with two players left behind int he terminal in Oregon having missed the flight. This was supposed to be a lop sided affair with the Nighthawks predicted to put up a cricket score, instead, they settled for a basketball score, doing just enough to earn the win. Helmand Nighthawks give thanks as they coast home against the Who Dat Nation Rises 111 - 93.

The other international team - who's not playing internationally - and probably lucky to not be doing so with the Omicron variant, were the Australian Taipans hosting the Black cats. the Taipans lost their#1 pick of the draft Cam McCafferty (RB) for a injury for the second time this season, ending his year. the Black cats, with the opportunity to steal one of the wins away form the Taipans, elected to only start one player short - that being Derrick Henry (RB). Lamar Jackson (QB) should have had a better game in order to help the cats, but instead threw for a Colin Kapernick night. This was almost "no contest" for the Taipans as they came within a sliver of their predicted score, but in so doing, trounced the Black cats. Taipans go home victorious defeating the Black Cats 153 - 102.

So, after this week, the leader board hasn't changes much, but time suddenly ran out on some the teams.

The Australian Taipans are top of the leaderboard and their win over the Black Cats and other result means they now clinch a play off spot. While it looks like it could be the #1 seed, there's still some games to be played, but by clinching a spot, it has made it much harder for some teams to reach the playoffs.

The Helmand Nighthawks also win and they move to 8-4, two games clear of their divisional rivals, the Black Cats at 6-6 and who lost to the Taipans this week. The Nighthawks can clinch a play off berth next week, but the divisional title is still undecided. The Black Cats are in a spot. They need a run of wins to keep up with the Nighthawks, otherwise, they face the prospect of handing the divisional title to them and dropping out of the play offs, all together.

The Guns of Hochuli come up at 5-7 and while sub .500% have the chance to play spoiler. They have enough divisional wins to finish ahead of one another team and possibly sneak their way into the playoffs as the #4 team.

Back at 4-8 is the interesting part of the league. the Who Dat Nation are all but eliminated from the playoffs, a shock result to those betting in Las Vegas in the early part of the year. The Nation have struggled with an absent Coach and they have fallen to the worst record in the league. With the same record but still in the hunt within their division are the Drunk Monkeys, who continue to confound and confuse as the best damm ghost team in the league.

So what does that do for next weeks games. We've made the option and flexed in the Black Cats hosting the Helmand Nighthawks as our game of the week. The Nighthawks will cross the Atlantic to the Carolina's where they have won one game and lost a game against their divisional opponent. The Nighthawks can put the Cats away from the Divisional Title with a win while the loss complicates the Cats forward journey in the playoffs.

And if you were one of our football teams looking for the post season, you had better get a bus ticket because there nothing left for you to find this year.

With the end of week thirteen on the Subsim Fantasy Football, and only two more weeks to do in the regular season, this week became the turning point for four (4) teams in the league. Let's start with our Match of the Day with the Black Cats hosting the Helmand Nighthawks.

The Cats have ghosted their way through deep into the season to be a threat for the divisional title but they were going to have to get around the visiting Helmand Nighthawks. The Nighthawks have barely held the divisional lead and were lagging behind the league leader and this needed to be a statement game for them. And what a statement it was, the Nighthawks putting up over 200 points this week - a double century, to skin the Cats. In honesty, had the Cats played anyone else in the league this week, they would have been victorious, but, should have, could have, are all statements. You have to be able to play every game every week if you want to win the Torpedo Bowl, and it looks like now that we're in December, this was a statement game for the Nighthawks. Nighthawks cross the Atlantic Ocean and obliterate the Black Cats in South Carolina, 202 - 135.

In Southern California, once again we find our other international team at home trying to hold the lead from the hard charging Nighthawks. The Australian Tiapans were hosting the Drunk Monkeys, who this year have upset almost everyone in the league, They have beaten both the Nighthawks and the Black Cats, and the Drunk Monkeys needed the trifecta of the Taipans to stay in the hunt for the post season. This began as a lopsided affair with the Taipans running our a gentle lead before injuries on the field began to plague the Taipans - again. Adam Thielan (WR) had one catch and Keenan Allen (WR) was ruled out during the game with Covid. In a low scoring game the lead that the Taipans were expecting to capitalize upon was barely enough for them to squeak home over the visiting Monkeys. Taipans get an undeserved W on the board as they defeat the Drunk Monkeys 113 - 98.

In Texas, the most intriguing of games occurred with the Guns of Hochuli hosting the Who Dat Nation in the open air rowdy Pearland stadium. On paper, the Who Dat Nation had this one penciled for a win but the Gunners showed up and stayed pace with the Nation. Coach Fuel For Blood was not able to use a lot bench players with parts of his team scheduled to start either ruled out at game time, or previously unavailable. The Bookmakers took a bath on this one as the Guns of Hochuli put paid to big dividends to get the win over the Who Dat Nation in a low scoring game 96 - 72.

So with the matches complete, we're now starting to get a clearer picture of the play offs.

The Tiapans clinched a play off berth last week and this week they clinch the divisional title. They will enter the play offs as either the #1 or the #2 seed.

One game behind them is the Helmand Nighthawks. The Nighthawks hold the tie breaker over the Taipans but have a divisional loss that hurts them. The Nighthawks clinch the Sub Simmers division and enter the play offs as either the #1 or the #2 seed.

And now it gets murkier.

Both the Drunk Monkeys and the Who Dat Nation have been eliminated from the top seed, but they can still make the play offs. These teams occupy the #5 and #6 seeding in the league and will need to win both remaining games to get into the play offs. And they will also need some help.

The Black Cats and the Guns of Hochuli hold the #3 and #4 position with both teams on 6-7 and going to the count-back. The Black Cats have surprised everyone this year as far as they have gone as a ghost team. One more win to either of these teams will cement their position in the play offs, but, they have some stiff competition. The Guns of Hochuli will be hosting the Australian Taipans this week, and the Black Cats will be hosting the Who Dat Nation - and it is the latter game which is our game of the week. We'll be there to cover all the action and the play off implications as it happens.

WILD WEEKEND SETS THE PLAYOFFS TEAMS

Week 14 in Subsim Fantasy Football and we've had such a wild weekend, we still need one more extra regular season week to sort out where the playoffs are going to be seen. We know who will be there, we know who could be there, but we don't know where they will be.

Lets go to our match of the day where the Black Cats were hosting the Who Dat Nation. Both of these teams have won the Torpedo Bowl, but this year, both of these teams are fighting just to make it into the playoffs. The Cats were marginally favored to win at the start of the week, but the apathetic effort by Lamar Jackson (QB) scoring just 0.68 points, left the pussies in trouble. The Who Dat Nation needed to win and needed to win by a margin if they were to have any chance of making the playoffs. They Nation came out Thursday night behind Dalvin Cook (RB) and just steamrolled the Cats into the ground at their home. Even with Andrew Robinson (WR) not doing very much, the Nation were able to push forward and keep their hopes of making the playoffs alive - mathematically. In the first of the blow outs this weekend, The Who Dat Nation defeats the Black Cats 164 - 130.

Across the Atlantic, the Helmand Nighthawks were in their last regular season home game as they hosted the Drunk Monkeys. This one wasn't even close. Having unexpectedly been beaten by the ghosting Monkeys earlier in the year, the Nighthawks needed to put aside the horrors of those games and take the Monkeys to the whipping shed. And whip them they did. After stacking up 200 points last week the Nighthawks back it up again lead by Greg Kittle (TE) to give the Drunk Monkeys the largest blow out of the year. The Helmand Nighthawks easily account for the Drunk Monkeys in 202 - 65 ass whipping.

Just when you think you have the regular season wrapped up, Covid strikes taking out two of your WR's, and you have start dropping players, including a kicker, just to put a team on the field. Then you get on a plane and fly from Los Angeles to Pearland Texas to the Guns of Hochuli home ground knowing that this team has been a thorn in your side for the past few years when it has come play off. That was the situation facing the Australian Taipans this week and it didn't get any better when the game started and Josh Allen (QB) put up over 50 points on his own to guide the Guns of Hochuli to an improbable victory 174 - 128. Their victory though gives some clarity to the play offs seeding - so lets take a look at that.

The Helmand Nighthawks sit at the top of the ladder at 10 - 4. They have clinched their division and need one more win to clinch the regular season.

The Taipans are also at 10-4 but have two losses to the Nighthawks so they drop back to the #2 seed on count back. The Taipans have clinched the division but need a win and the Nighthawks to loose in order to win the regular season.

The improbable win by the Guns of Hoculi cement them as a play off team, with their final seeding still to be decided. They will have to play through next week and relay on another game before they know their play off position.

The Black Cats at 6-8 are in a precarious position. They not only have to win next week but need favorable results elsewhere before they know if they have made the playoffs.

The Who Dat Nation suffer the most from the win by the Guns of Hochuli. The Nations best chance to make the playoffs was to force the count back against the Gunners, but they have advanced one game beyond reach. The Nation needs to win and have favorable results if they are to make the playoffs.

In previous years it has been a 14 week regular season, but with all the vacation request that were allowed, the season had to be expanded out to 15 - and we are going to need every second of next weeks game to sort out who's going to the playoffs. With the Who Dat Nation needing the win to advance, we'll go back to Oregon for our final regular season game as the Drunk Monkeys come to town. This is not a pushover game, with both coaches currently on the FBI's Missing and Wanted list. The Monkeys have upset the top three teams this year and while their season is over, the Monkeys will pay the pivotal role in the final regular season game. And we'll be there to capture every second of every game.

PLAYOFF SEEDING SET IN THRILLERS

Week 15 in Subsim Fantasy Football, and not only is it an extra week, it was also a loooong week. Games were moved, Covid players were sidelined, Managers were left pulling their hair out - everything you could ask for in week 15 of the 14 week schedule. But we got it done, and now we know who's in the play offs, who's not, and where everyone is playing.

So let's go around the grounds and get the 4-1-1 right after we give you this holly jolly message.

Our Match of the day this week was in Eugene, Oregon, where the Who Dat Nation Rises were hosting the Drunk Monkeys. The Monkeys were the only team at the beginning of this week who had been eliminated from the playoffs, and were already booking seats in the stands to watch the Torpedo Bowl . But, the game itself would decided if the Nation advanced to the playoffs, pending the result of another game. A lot was riding on this game, and the Drunk Monkeys put the workload on the Johnathon Taylor (RB) who ran for 29 points. The Nation suffered a late scratching with Allen Robinson (WR) due to Covid protocols leaving them a man down. The Monkeys also had two long term on starters scheduled to start so this game was who could outlast the The other. The Monkeys held on with their "Dallas" offense, but it was Mark Andrews (TE) who decided the fate of the game when he individually scored 41 points, 300% over predictions. And the Nation needed it to, going into the last game on Tuesday leading only by 11 points. The Who Dat Nation redeem themselves against the season long giant slaying Drunk Monkeys and get the win 115 - 94. Once back in the dressing room, they needed to wait out the result of the Taipans game.

The Australian Taipans were still smarting after the loss last week put them into a count back for the regular season. The Black Cats were advancing into playoff contention, their possible seeding in the post season counterbalanced by their elimination, they needed a win or favorable results elsewhere. So when the teams took the field on Thursday night, it was the Australian Taipans, putting up 94 points by the end of the ngiht before the Cats even scored. The Taipans put on a clinical display and looked like topping the 200 point mark when they fell victim, once again to injury and Covid mid game. The lead began to diminish, but with the Black Cats Lamar Jackson (QB) ruled out, this game was always going to be "by how much". The Taipans took their foot off the accelerator and coasted to a win defeating the Black Cats 155 - 75.

The first part of the equation for the Taipans to win the regular season was complete, now they needed just a little luck - something missing for several years, in order to win.

The Helmand Nighthawks were potentially facing their last "away" game this season when they traveled to Pearland, Texas to take on the Guns of Hochuli. The Gunners match up against the Nighthawks was going to decided the regular season and the final seeding. There couldn't be any more riding on this game and it was a beauty. Tyree Hill (WR) came out Thursday night and put up 38 individual points, and it looked liked the Nighthawks were just going to fly away with this match. The Gunners responded and kept pace with Dalton Schultz (TE) who scored 20. By the time that the Nighthawks Tom Brady (QB) got the ball you were expecting this to be an aerial assault and the points to fly - but it didn't. Brady's (QB) best pass was the Microsoft Tablet to the Bench for 3.76 points, leaving the door open for the Gunners to steal the game. Nick Chubb (RB) Playing injured himself brought the game to within a touchdown as we needed to wait out Tuesday when DK Metcalf (WR) of the Gunners faced Cooper Kupp (WR) of the Nighthawks. Gunners stepped out briefly in fornt of the Nighthawks but it was apparent that Cupp (WR) was just going to keep piling on yard after yard. Gunners still lead with fifteen minutes to go but once Cupp (WR) crossed for his first touchdown, it was all over. By the time he crossed for the second, the close game had become a blow out. Helmand Nighthawks account for the Guns of Hochuli 141-114.

With the regular season completed, we now had the opportunity to place the final seeding.

The Drunk Monkeys were the only team eliminated going into the final week, so they get to go home early.


At the top of the ladder. the Helmand Nighthawks and the Australian Taipans tie at the end of the regular season at 11 - 4. We go to our first count-back and the Nighthawks have beaten the Taipans 2-0 in match ups this year, so they win the #1 seed, and get to sell tickets for the Torpedo Bowl. Helmand Nighthawks win the regular season and take the divisional title.

The loss last week by the Taipans against the Guns of Hoculi put them in a hole where they needed the luck of other games to go their way, and the Taipans have had no luck for sometime now. The Taipans secure the #2 seed, win the Surface Skimmers division and get at least one home game in the playoffs.

The Guns of Hochuli by virtue of their unexpected win last week secured a play off position regardless of this weeks game. The Gunners though were facing a seeding issue based on their performance. The Gunners finish out the regular season as the #3 seed and get to travel back to Los Angeles to face they Australian Taipans whom they defeated, last week.

The loss by the Black Cats and the win by the Who Dat nation Rises put both divisional teams in the same 6-9 record, but only one of them could advance to the post season in the last remaining spot. We go the the second count-back of the regular season and the Black Cats win based on points scored. The Black Cats secure the #4 seeding and a date with the Helmand Nighthawks in the first week of the playoffs. The Who Dat nation, for the first time in years miss out on the play offs and go home to think about what could have been.

Each week, the Associated Subsim Writers (ASW) will nominated their Most Valuable Torpedo (MVT) of the week, the single player who proved decisive in their teams performance.

We touted their performance earlier in the report and no we get to give their final results. For the effort of 10 receptions for 191 yards and 2 touchdowns, for a total of 47.10 points, the Week Fifteen MVT goes to Travis Kelce (TE) of the Australian Taipans.

GUNNERS FIRE TAIPANS
11-4 team loses to 7-8

Week 16 in Subsim Fantasy Football, and with only two games being played this weekend, one you could have telephoned in the result quicker than a US election. The other was a thriller all the way to the end. One team goes home wondering what could have been and the other advances to the Torpedo Bowl.

We'll get to both grounds today as soon as we deliver this most important message.

Two weeks ago the Nighthawks were handed a gift horse when the Guns of Hoculi defeated the Australian Taipans and allowed the Nighthawks to claim the number one seed in the playoffs and home field advantage. The Nighthawks were gifted their second seed of the play offs when the Black Cats were the final team to qualify and flew to London...minus half their team. Yep, the Black Cats arrived with just four (4) players on the team. Devonte Adams (WR) did all he could to carry the team with 39 points, but the Black Cats weren't just going to make it, even before Washington (DEF) recording a negative score. Mister Chris could have run out his under 16 team and still would have accounted for the Black Cats. Helmand Nighthawks advances to the Torpedo Bowl as the number 1 seed thoroughly accounting for the Black Cats 123 - 75.


Our second game of the weekend was a thriller with all the drama unfolding earlier in the week. The Taipans lost three (3) players through Covid protocols and started the week playing with an open spot - just in case one of them would pass. The Gunners Coach Casey returned to the team and clinched key players off the waiver wire to start the game favorite. The Taipans had Deebo Samuels (WR) put them on the board with a sizeable start, with the Gunners not running anybody onto the field until early Sunday morning But when they did, the fireworks began. The Gunners chased down the Taipans lead and surpassed them to open a 40 point lead. The Taipans slithered their way back into the game, but their efforts for a win were thwarted when Josh Allen (QB) racked up a season high score. Left with Patrick Mahhones (QB) the Taipans recaptured the lead late Sunday, but eventually, the Gunners final player, Greg Zuerline (K) would put the game out of reach. The Gunners stage their second upset win over the Australian Taipans in the past three weeks to win by the closest margin of the week (LOL) 159 - 151 - and book a ticket to England to meet the Helmand Nighthawks in the Torpedo Bowl. The Australian Taipans get to stay home one more week and wait for the Black Cats to cross the Atlantic and the continent to compete for the bronze medal.


Next weeks third game will see the Who Dat Nation Rises hosting the Drunk Monkeys for the wooden spoon of the league.

From nowhere, Coach Casey has returned and after ghosting the league for most of the season, marched into the playoffs and now onto the Torpedo Bowl. Could they ghost all the way? GUNNERS THIEVE TORPEDO BOWL
Upset win over the Nighthawks

Holy crap! In a league first, the team that ghosted their way into the playoffs has taken down the stalwart of the league in a convincing manner to become the new Torpedo Bowl Champion. How did this occur?

We'll get to the biggest upset win in league history right after we pick ourselves up off the floor. In the meantime, here's a message form our sponsors.

They entered the Torpedo Bowl thirty point underdogs. They foundered through the regular season picking off wins here and there, and finally in Week 15 Coach Casey showed up, made some positional changes and charged into the post season. First, he defeated the season long league leader to clinch a play off berth. Then, he did it a second time in the first week of the post season proving that it was no fluke. And now, he has completed the biggest coup de grace not seen before. But it wasn't without drama - and where there's drama, there's Antonio Brown. After claiming Brown off waivers Coach Casey put him in for a half a game, then pulled him out. Brown (WR) sitting on the sideline received a text message to pack his bags and lave - and he did - storming off at half time. By then however, the damage had been done.


The Helmand Nighthawks were hosting the Gunners having already disposed of them in the regular season, No one expected Mister Chris and the Nighthawks to do anything but fly over the Guns of Hochuli who only had a 29% chance of winning.





Gunners came out and quickly erased the deficit with Amon St. Brown, (WR) a no name whom we haven;t talked about all year, and out up 42 points on his own. The steal was on. When Rob Gronkowski (TE) went for over 100 yards himself, the Gunners put themselves in position to lead the game. Helmand Nighthawks were not helped by AJ Brown (RB) and Greg Kittle (TE) who both put up single digit scores. By the time that Nighthawks brought Aaron Rodgers (QB) on the field, the engravers were already working on the Torpedo Bowl etching the Guns of Hochuli into the base. In the wildest upset that we have ever seen, the Helmand Nighthawks collapse resembles the English batting in the Ashes, and they just petered out long before the final score was completed. As if to put an exclamation point on the score, Gunners put up the highest score of all games on the weekend. In runaway win, the Guns of Hochuli having ghosted through the first thirteen weeks of the season, return and account for the Helmand Nighthawks 160-112.


In the race for the bronze medal, having been defeated last week by the Guns of Hochuli, the Australian Taipans were hosting the Black Cats at the LA Colosseum. The Colosseum was not expecting the Taipans to be playing so they had already started laying down the dirt for the future Nascar race next month, forcing the game to be played on a field reminisce of the Oakland Raiders dirt field. This was the expected no contest as the Taipans started 70 points head start and won the game by almost that margin. Taipans handle the Black Cats 143 - 76.


In the Toilet Bowl game, the Who Dat Nation Rises makes their first appearance hosting the Drunk Monkeys. Monkeys finished the season 4-11 and this was predicted to be the closest game of the week. It was not to be , as the Who Dat Nation hand the Monkeys another ass beating. The Drunk Monkeys still have one more player to take the field tonight, Washington (DEF) but his game is over bar the shouting. The Who Dat Nation Rises out of the Toilet Bowl and flushes the Drunk Monkeys 154 points to a possible 85.

Hard to overlook the performance of the entire Guns of Hochuli team this week as they account for the Goliath of the league, but we found a one stand out. For the effort of passing for 6 receptions for 63 yards and three touchdowns and an additional 6 rushing yards, for a total of 30.90 points, the Week Seventeen MVT goes to DK Metcalf (WR) of the Guns of Hochuli.

Unfortunately, we lost a such a significant person since then that we had to Zoom conference an additional meeting to review just the name of the team. Honoring the Greatest


Ladies and gentlemen, the highest honor of the year within the Subsim Fantasy Football League is not to win the Torpedo Bowl - which is really nice to do, but to be recognized as part of the team which honors a stalwart of the community. Each season in week fifteen, the Associated Subsim Writers, huddle for a weekend and begin to select their best players, but more importantly, they select the honoree. Past winner have come from all walks of life, all oh whom have had a profound effect on the players and coaches.

This year, the honoree had been chosen and balloting for the final positions were being tabulated, when we received word of the sudden passing of, perhaps, the most significant honoree in the game. The Associated Subsim Writers have never before revised their honoree, and to the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Phillip, we remember you and thank you - and accord you the majesty of your service.

After you were gone, we lost our undisputed Monarch, and for that, we must accord.
