When blowing all your cash on a yacht just isn't enough

The price isn't bad, in line with most of the supercars. It has some neat toys and upgrades, plus missions and a heist, but like most of this sort of stuff in GTAO I'll pass on the submarine I'm sure. The new submersible is cool.

The one thing that does appeal to me is the helicopter. I just love flying helicopters in GTA. The flight model sucks and it's far from realistic, but I have so much fun flying around Los Santos. This sub can carry a new helo, called the Sparrow. You can buy it from Warstock, so don't need the sub to get it, it seems.

I have a hangar at LSIA and it's stuffed with helicopters. But there's room for another. There's also a Sea Sparrow with pontoons.

These sorts of updates rarely have much in them for me, but new content is always welcomed. And from what I hear, the heist is soloable. That might be worth buying the sub right there. Getting competent heist crews together has been my problem since I started.

Same here, the game world is so awesome, it is tremendous fun just being in it and exploring. I don't have my living room set up for gaming yet, dragging my feet on building my custom entertainment shelf... I might just buy GTA though Steam for this. Though I have no idea how to "buy" stuff in the game. Hopefully its not $9 million real dollars.

You don't NEED to spend real money, but the game is tuned for it. Shark cards are Rockstar's goldmine. They make over 500 million per year in shark card sales. In all, GTA has made north of 6 billion. It is the single most successful entertainment thing ever, including films. You may already know all of that.

So you can pay real scratch to get GTA cash. But I've never done that and I have a couple high end apartments, a CEO office with a multi-story marbled garage, an import/export business, a weapons bunker, a hangar full of aircraft and a fleet of supercars and motorcycles.

Shark cards are simply the short cut.

If you do buy a new copy, these days it is usually bundled with at least one shark card, and these bundles can have properties, cars and more included. Properties are of varying utility, mostly due to location, and if you aren't familiar and want opinions on any of them just ask. Not sure how much you already know about the game.

Rockstar run regular events to gain more cash. I got millions in the past year for log-in bonuses during these events. The rest of the money comes from heists, missions, businesses and so on.

And it struck me that you might mean how to buy things from a mechanical perspective. Things like vehicles and properties are purchased through the associated website on your phone. To buy a vehicle you'll need a garage. I think the high-end apartments are the best value for this. For just about 200k you can get a sweet pad and it comes with a 10-car garage plus a heist room. This also gives you a nice safe place to spawn or hang out.

My two apartments are Richards Majestic # 51 and Alta Street # 57. Richards Majestic is right next to the golf course and movie studio. Alta Street is downtown very close to where you take the tunnel in the jewelry store heist in single player if you played that. So it gives me two good hideouts in different parts of the map.

You need the garage because that's where the vehicles you purchase on the phone will spawn. Make sure to have a free slot in the garage. Same if you win a vehicle on the wheel in the casino. Always have at least one spot free!

Not sure where the sub spawns, probably the same spots the yachts do. You can buy the new sub for 2.2m, and up to 10m fully upgraded.

A couple weeks ago I decided to fire up GTAO again after not playing for about a year. One of the things I was interested in trying was the Cayo Perico heist. Did you ever give this content a go Neal?

If you can believe it, I'm a legit GTAO player. Never glitched or duped, no shark cards, every dime earned legit. So I need to be careful how I spend it. I also spend 3/4 of my time in Invite, either solo or with a couple friends. Serious money making opportunities are hard to come by when you play this way. And that was OK with me. I also play full time first-person, for what it might be worth.

So I looked in to the Cayo heist, which I had heard was possible to do solo. No other heist in GTAO can be solo'd. So this was great news. But how difficult or frustrating would it prove to be? Only one way to find out! So I bought the sub that Neal talks about in the OP, plus the Sparrow helicopter, the Avisa submersible and the weapons workshop. It was all on sale at the time (since ended) and total layout was 3.8m. Of these only the sub is required to do the heist, but I highly recommend the helo too. There is a lot of back and forth to and from the sub during the preps and the Sparrow makes it so much easier and faster. I like the workshop too, but sort of regret buying the submersible, even though it looks really cool in the moonpool. But yeah, can skip that if you want.

The first go at the heist was not great. I died or got detected a lot, at least a dozen times. But each attempt was sharpening it up, and I forged a solid plan to ghost it. In, out, undetected, gettin' paid fool!

Last night I did my 13th run of this heist. Once you've got it down, everything -- intel phase, preps and finale -- can be done in about an hour and a half. The loot changes each time you play it, and the ideal setup from a time perspective is to spawn two paintings in the vault office. This way you can fill your loot bag in the shortest possible time and get off the island. There is an Elite Challenge, full bag, no restarts and under 15 minutes. I had practiced and perfected my plan enough that when I finally spawned two paintings I thought I'd have a good shot at the challenge if I could just nail my plan

I did a sub and scuba infil, came up the stairs and methodically went through the steps, and boom! Out in 10:44. Nailed it. Felt good, as you only get one shot at it and it has to come off. In all I cleared 1.5m for this run, some of it in bonuses. The take is dependent on several factors, but 1.5m is a good haul. There's no other way to make this sort of money this fast in GTAO, especially solo.

In all I've cleared about 18m from this heist. Things like properties, businesses, supercars and aircraft that would have been out of reach or poor decisions before are now quite affordable, all because of this Cayo heist. I'm still careful how it's spent, but I don't need to be!

So yeah, if you play this game and want to make mad stacks, give the Cayo heist a go. Best thing that ever happened to solo players in GTAO since they decided to make Invite a mode.
