Was waiting for a download so worked on a new version of the REAP(Re-Entry-Atmospheric-Plane) Viola.

Here she is next to the normal Viola, as you can see she's a bit of a heavier bird designed to be a bit more at home in Orbital maneuvers then the normal version. (Which has to have additional stages for orbital maneuvering) Unfortunately this does come at the cost of atmospheric range and ease of flight.

However, with a turbojet replacing the coupler to get it past the thicker atmosphere it is actually capable of thrusting on its own power into a low orbit!

When this scout bot grows up he wants a foot print that size...

Hunter struggles with
TOAST whilst Task Force receives a new lawn ornament from the AI

The AI is very committed to its Drop-Ship tactic, even when we flood the route it takes with fighters.

We get a completely unexpected visit from two experimental bombers...shattering the illusion we had that Arc had turned experimentals off.

Well, I've just got into the game, brought it back in April (I know, I know, where have I been?) and I've just started a small campaign to muck around with and get the ropes. I intend to start the Road To Independence campaign on Wednesday or Thursday. So I'm a bit reluctant to put a mod on until I've got to grips with the basics of the game.
Out of interest though, what exactly does Darthmod do, other than up the number of units?

Darthmod does a lot more than just up the unit numbers. The AI is different, there are retextured units, new unit animationsm new sounds and a whole raft of add on and sub mods that make even more changes. Note that there are two DM's The Empire Commander edition is closer to vanilla but with cranked unit numbers and AI. The Ultimate Commanders edition has hundreds of new units plus more. Think of it like GWX for ETW. http://www.moddb.com/mods/darthmod-empire
